Forgive me if this has been posted about at nausea, but I haven't quite gotten the hang of the search tool for the forum yet.
If I were planning on moving my blogspot blog to a WP self hosted site, what recommendations would you have? I'd be most grateful for your feedback.
Cheers!

Hey Charles,
Welcome to the community!
A lot of people recommend HostGator. I personally use 1and1.com.
One of the biggest questions in saving money will be whether you know how to setup the WP blog, or would like an instant setup via a webhost. Some are better than others on this front.
Let me know if you have any questions along the way.

Are you looking for recommendations on the process of migrating to a self-hosted WordPress install, or as to which hosting company you should choose?

I've hosted with godaddy in the past, but would probably use blue host if I had to pick one now.
Right now I'm hosting my site on blogger and just bought my domain name, so taking baby steps.

I use Hostgator and have been very happy with them. Here is a coupon code for 25% off when you signup just for Yakezies - YAKEZIE25P
If you are interested, I can take care of everything for you. Here's more on my web development services.
