So a few weeks ago, I was chatting with Sam (@yakezie) & LaTisha (@youngfinances) on twitter. The topic was writing a 'whale of a post' with 1,000+ words and 100+ comments (which includes your own). I thought that was totally impossible for me to do. LaTisha did hers on the 17th, and it was great. :-) I just couldn't come up with anything that required that many words.

Today I realized that my post from yesterday, The Downside of Using Credit Cards Responsibly was actually a little over 1,200 words. So, I was actually able to write a post of 1,000+ words, even if it wasn't on purpose. I didn't get the 100+ comments part, but I got a few. Laugh

Great work Jen!  I really enjoyed that particular post.  Some longer posts are definitely a good idea, although sometimes the shorter posts do just as well.  I've got some posts coming up that I might've got carried away with that far exceeded 1000 words.  I just hope it doesn't limit comment activity.

Great post!  I left a comment.  Maybe this post will help others realize that credit cards really only serve to complicate our lives, not make them easier like the marketing would like us to believe.  Going debt free?cash only is the only way to go in my book!

Thanks Jason. They really can just end up making things complicated and stressful.

Thanks FMV. :-) I'm pretty curious about this Valentine's Day post now. I've also been putting one off, but I'm not sure if I'll get it finished on time.

Very interesting story.  I have very similar habits to you, it has worked out so far for me with the amount of rewards I receive.

This whole thing is really sneaky. They are betting that you aren't paying attention. Like I mentioned in my comment, I keep my credit very simple to try to avoid these credit bombs.

Keeping it simple would definitely keep things like this from happening often. Thanks for checking it out. Smile
