If anyone is willing to share this January bonanza-love i'd be happy to scratch your back as well!

Ditto to that.

December wasn't too bad but I have had better. January is starting off great though.

December was lower than preceding months for me, though January is off to a bit of a slow start as well.

As I detail in my income report, Dec was a slightly better month, but most of that is due to diversifying my efforts. I can't wait until my 2nd site starts earning some income from all the work I have put into it.

Time will only tell if January will be better or not. Here's hoping!

Wasn't great, wasn't bad – about my 6 mo running average.

January, unlike what you folks are reporting, has been a dud thus far.

Same here. Hoping for a turn around soon!

I saw a significant increase in earnings for December. I made $350 in Nov and $1550 in Dec.

Hoping I can continue the momentum in January…

December was a good month for me even with a few slow days around Christmas.  January is starting off slow but there is still plenty of time for it to turn around.

My December was pretty good. 2011 was the first year I made as much as I make in my regular day job. :)

Jan has been slow so far.

My December was on par with previous monthly earnings, but it all happened within the first two weeks of the month, and then nothing the last two weeks…though I do know all of my advertising contacts were on vacation as well, so Im guessing thats why inquiries were slim…not to mention budgets being used up.

January is so-so at the moment, not really looking all that great…I have a ton of negotiations but nobody really biting as much as usual.  I expect it to improve regardless, but sometimes it takes a little more effort on my part to seek out the deals.

Didn't have advertising on my site in December- January is my first month with ads. So, at this point, any income is AWESOME!

Hoping things pick up in Jan. because Dec was bad for me too. Like Justin said, they were probably out celebrating so things should pick up now.

I'm still not earning enough (or with any consistency) to know a good month from a bad month.  I'm hoping to get in a better position for advertising in the next few months, but I'm not really pushing it right now.  I want to get myself a little more established first.

About half of my clients got a ton of business in December (mainly the first two weeks) since the advertisers just got around to looking at my newer clients and had some money left at the end of the year, but the other half were mostly looked over.  January is looking more even – everyone is having a fighting chance since there are new budgets, new advertising contacts, and a big deal in the works.  I am hoping January will be even better than December, and that was my best month for deals yet.

I had an "average" december, but things are starting to come out above-average in january, not sure it will last though.

I can't figure this whole advertising game out and I'm getting a little discouraged.  We're at 78,000 in Alexa, a PR 3 (some pages even have a PR4), Mozrank of 4.89 (formerly 5.24) and we still aren't getting a whole lot.  What little we do get is thanks to Crystal's and TFB's contacts.  I see the earnings reports out there for blogs that have very similar metrics to ours and I just can't figure it out.  Anyone got any advice?

Thanks Derek…I'll have to hit 2k/month in order to have a chance at 30k, right!?

Good luck to you Dave! Monetizing is pretty fun, even if you only make $5! :)
