My biggest single traffic day was when a post made it to the front page of reddit.   It was worth about 1500 visits that day, and several hundred more over the next few days.   That dies down quickly, though.

Wow, that's really impressive!  Good work!

We should all submit our articles to Reddit and upvote each other's article!

Are we allowed to do this?Laugh

be careful with reddit, over use can lock your account, and try posting with your personal id, if people feel you are promoting your blog you will be flagged soon

Its great to promote each other via Reddit – but you should promote others or risk being banned.

Wait, so you can't put your own blog on there? What if we had each other submit each other's blogs on reddit? :)

Just thinking of a way where we can all help each other.

I also just noticed a bump from Reddit. Maybe I should look more into asking readers to vote.

Now it is up to 4,109 visitors to my site.  I have never had so much traffic.  (Of course, the comments about it on Reddit are alternatively humorous and a little painful for me as the writer.)

Debt eye it's pure chance, like lottery, chances are there that you will get only a couple of visits, mostly that's the case. Even delicious and SU works the same way, you never know which one people will take in.

The Frugal sub-reddit can bring a LOT of traffic.  There are over 70,000 users who subscribe to that category.

Here's the thing – articles have to be good and you really can't sub your own stuff.  If you sub your own stuff it may be seen as spam and get voted down.

I'm actually the moderator for the financialplanning subreddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/Financ…..lPlanning/

Feel free to submit great articles there.  You can sub your own stuff but be warned others may vote it down.  It's better to sub other people's articles.  Also, don't submit every article of yours and only one per day (some sub three or four articles at a time and they almost alwasy get voted down or marked as spam).  Don't put in roundups or anything that isn't an informative article.

It's a great idea to help support each other on any social media.  I believe Forest set up a group on Skype for us to chat and submit social requests.  I haven't seen many people using it yet.  Give it a try!

If you are a reddit user, hop on over to financialplanning and subscribe.  You'll find some Yakezie already on there.  If you ever need reddit help, drop me a line.

Remember, the key to building up a social media profile is to be useful to the users.  If you focus on self-promotion you won't go far (sounds like something we strive for here, doesn't it?).

Oh, voted up your article Melissa!
