Has to be a glitch! There are blogs that don't sell any links that got smacked. Scary times! Lesson here is to diversify your internet ventures…

I suppose it is possible that it is an update, PR's do jump around for a day or 2 when Google pushes and update. Hard to believe though as they just had an update February 7th so I wouldn't expect another until May at the earliest. That being said, they did update 3 months concurrently in 2011 (June, July, August). A quick search doesn't show anyone talking about a PR update though.

This happened on my site a couple weeks ago. It was listed as N/A for a weekend and then went back to normal. I think it that the pagerank server just hiccups on connections every so often.

I'm looking for editors, beta-readers, and some demographic research for my upcoming novel, Once Upon a Saturn Moon. If you like reading soft sci-fi thrillers, maybe with a touch of romance thrown in, you can find more information at http://seampublishing.com/once…..aturn-moon

Wow that's crazy! I just checked mine and it says PR3. Still the same, can't believe it's happening to all of you.

Here is my big question. I just checked my pagerank the other day. Also I searched on the search terms that are often picked up with my blog. When I use the same phrasing as the search terms, my blog is ranked the same as before. Thus I do not seem to be penalized in this way…just the page rank feature.
Does anyone have any thoughts about this?

It could be a PR update push, and sometimes that "PR Bounce" will happen. Though if there is an update there is a lot of talk on the web, as mentioned above.
Wait for 2 or 3 days and see what happens
Cheers

PageRank has no effect on traffic, it's just a number google assigns to your site as a form of authority. So even if your front page is a PR0, that doesn't really mean that a post isn't still relevant for a search term. On the other side of that coin, you could have a PR7 site and not write about things people are searching for, so you'd get little search traffic.

When you search, make sure you are searching in a browser that doesn't have your personal history otherwise you may be getting an individualized search result based on your preferences.

PFW is also a 0 now. It isn't the first time one of my sites has lost PR for selling links….and it probably won't be the last. It just means I need to get my tail in gear on my other monetization plans for this site.

Jeremy you hit the nail on the head here. I didn't want to say anything at first, becuase many bloggers make money selling text links, and people make money reselling them here. But many of you have lots of UK links on your sites, and the same ones actually. I've got one and I'll let it expire, and I refunded 2 links recently after doing some research.I'm not going into specifics here in the forum.
I'd bet dollars to donoughts some of these links have been flagged by Google, that's my best guess anyway. While there is a hefty profit to be made, selling these text links has risks IMO.
Cheers

Stupid question: Even if Google were to ding a site, do they do it in realtime? Wouldn't it just go to 0 the next time they update? Or is it "can't move up or down for normal reasons between PR updates but if we want to ding you for something we'll do it whenever we want"?
