The sidebar on my website is very weak, basically non existent. I've experimented with a couple widgets to add, but I haven't really been satisfied. Do you guys have any recommendations or ideas for what I could include in the sidebar.

I would look around the other Yakezie sites for ideas. Take what you like and see what people have consistently across lots of sites. You can get ideas like subscribe boxes, % debt paid off, search boxes, ads, top post boxes, recent post boxes, top comment boxes, etc.

Be careful about putting too much on your sidebar – it is easy to want to have 'one of everything' there, but that can cause the site to get too crowded looking. Personally, I like to reserve the sidebar for things like search boxes, social media buttons, ads, and items that directly relate to the site.
Of one note, I don't know if it is just my browsers or not, but your site is super wide. On my huge monitor here at work I have to scroll over to see your sidebar – and on my laptop monitor it is even worse. To be honest, had I not been looking specifically for your sidebar I would have missed it. I would recommend your site being no more than 1000 px wide as that way it should be contained within most monitors.

Top commentators, recent posts, popular posts, recent comments… some plugins for consideration. The more you add, the more slower your site becomes.

Keywords, Most Popular Articles, Twitter button, Subscriber button, and a few relavent ads. I really want to ad an "About Me" area, much like Pat does on SmartPassiveIncome.com. Hopefully, I get that up soon.

Similar to popular posts, I added a "New Here, Start With These" box and it has really been driving traffic to some of my older favorite spots.

Keep it simple and clean. Depending on your interest, I recommend a mixture of recommended reading, banner ad, mortgage or other type of calculator, top posts, posts for beginners, about me tab, contact, and other stuff like recent comments. The key is to streamline that area and keep it simple.

I noticed you added recent posts to the sidebar. That's a good start. You could include your favorite posts and any areas that you want readers to take a look at.
