Hello everyone! I hope everyone is having a great summer. Few days ago, I published about reaching a milestone of hitting 200,000 Alexa traffic rank, and in it I’m sure you guys sensed a very positive, optimistic and feel-good vibe in the post. However, I think I’m hitting another roadblock. I haven’t been able to blog much in August at all due to my day job and family vocation, and my traffic has plummet significantly. And when I say significantly, I mean it dropped to a level of first month of blogging.
Is this normal? You stopped writing and immediately, your traffic disappears?
I’m still struggling to make some any income with this blog at all and I wonder if this is normal for someone who is about 6 months into blogging.
Need some insights from you vets out there. Thanks.

It normally takes a few days for me, but if I miss a post, my traffic does drop for a day or two. Two weeks ago, I missed two posts and I'm still down 25%.

I'm looking for editors, beta-readers, and some demographic research for my upcoming novel, Once Upon a Saturn Moon. If you like reading soft sci-fi thrillers, maybe with a touch of romance thrown in, you can find more information at http://seampublishing.com/once…..aturn-moon

What type of traffic are we talking about? Direct, referral, search?

What is your traffic breakdown at 6 months? Chances are, your search isn't changing much, so since you didn't post new content, your referral and social media traffic dropped. That's normal.
If your search traffic dropped significantly in that short period of time, chances are you were benefiting from "freshness" and you'll get that back as you publish new content.

From your post, I am assuming your are getting mostly direct and referral traffic. You don't usually lost search traffic like that, so this sounds normal if you aren't getting much search traffic.
Having said this, it is normal for many bloggers to make make much money in 6 months. If you are aiming just to make money, then you have the formula all wrong. Create the content and then worry about the money.
