I was just reading an interesting article about the very recent google changes as well as negative SEO changes.

There is a video in the article that talks about a number of negative things including how malware, hacks and injections are affecting your rankings.

Negative SEO is something that is really scary. I wouldn't take much for a site to take out their competitors by buying a bunch of spammy links that point to their sites!

I guess we can worry about all the updates that Google is making and worry about what other sites can do to destroy us.  But I would rather spend the time working on improving my site.  We can't control what we can't control.

Spot on! Ultimately Google is trying its best to rank quality sites higher. Concentrate on making your site as good as possible, and you've got a decent shot of doing well.

I read about Negative SEO a couple of weeks ago and found out there's even agencies that offer this in their packages!

Thanks for the info…

My blog has been blocked from being accessed at work (they support my blog so I know it wasn't malicious).  I wasn't sure why and emailed our IT team, and they said  there may be a threat of malware on my site… Embarassed  But I do not see any spam on my site nor do I receive spam emails.  Not sure what to do or IF someone is trying to hack my site… any suggestions?

Thank you!
