I Dugg the article on composting.

Anybody else can Digg it here as well:

I'm a big composter, but some people think it's disgusting, attracts bugs and rodents (I get possums).

Anyway, good luck to you. Max

Hi Max,

Do you keep the meats and oils out of the compost, or do the possums go for the decomposing veg?  Thanks for the Digg – our first one I think!

We love composting.  We save b/c we don't have to buy a lot of soil, we use less kitchen bags and garbage bags and the yield on our garden is fantastic!

No meats and oils, but fruit, veggies, etc., I'm not sure what the possums are attracted to exactly, maybe just the smell, but we get rabbits, raccoons, squirrels, you name it.

But I don't have like a professional composting machine, just a small-link fence I rigged in a circle, so it's open for access, which my neighbors probably don't appreciate, although I hide it behind my garage.

Yeah, I'm a big gardener, so I like it for the nutritious dirt.

Mrs. SPF has been writing again!

Today she posted The Beauty in Saving Your Skin and the Water Supply

The article takes a look at green cosmetics which can be loaded with nasty chemicals that eventually get washed down a drain and enter the water supply.
