Good Morning everyone!

Over the weekend I finally broke down and began to re-design my blog. It's been a very simple theme since I started, and i know that I needed to spruce it up a bit. I'm actually having logo work done right now so that should change in the next week or so hopefully.

I am not a designer or very technically savvy, so this has been a stretch for me. I'd love to know what you think.

Thanks!

Good design, try to re size images to fit in the content area. If you try to reduce top menu items they will appear in a single row making header look better. You are showing two header menu with same content, remove the second one.

When page is opened for first time, on my screen I had two header rows, site banner and 3/4 of the slide show, if you try to fit in the banner on top menu it will free up space, even making slide show size smaller will help further.

You may want to increase font size by one. Content in footer generally differs from contents in header.

I didn't find disclaimer and privacy policy, add them on footer to be compliant with some advertisers requirement.

Looks nice! Very different, but inviting. Nice work! …I'm actually kind of jealous. ;)

Nice! I'd give you the award for "Best Looking Yakezie Blog"! For my recent blog redesign, I was going to use Elegant Themes to, but I'm terrible at tech related stuff (hence I couldn't use it properly). I'm now using Standard Theme.

Looks very neat. I like it. One thing though- the text in your feature slideshow is a snitch hard to read on that background. Just me though.

@SB — Thanks! I was able to re-size the images in the featured slider to fit better. I' will definitely consider the font size, and I have been meaning to add the privacy policy and disclaimer. Thank you!

@LifeandMyFInances — No need to be jealous. You have an awesome looking blog also with great traffic!

@Tony Chou — Wow. Well thank you! Elegant Themes has been really simple to work with, and they have in-depth tutorials on how to install and modify everything in their themes. I have just tapped the surface of what they can do.

@Miss T — I've noticed that also. Not 100% sure how to adjust that, but I will work on it.

@My University Money — Thanks for taking the time to check it out!

Very professional looking! Great work.

If it were me, I would play around with the font of slogan ("MAXIMIZE YOUR…") It seems a little hard to read, but it may just be me.

Other than that, looks good!

Hello!

Looks pretty good. Two critiques: I also used to have small font and someone had advised that I increase it. I think it helps with the reading. Also, your photos below the header that rotate look good; the only issue is they look slightly stretched out.

Great job!

Very nice design. I agree with Miss T about trying to read the text in the header, and SB regarding the duplicate nav bars. Another thing to add – I'm on a 24 inch screen, and I can't see one word of your content without scrolling. There is a lot of space at the top that can be either removed or condensed.

I like it! Looks very professional and the wood tone gives it a warm inviting feel. Lots of space…and room to grow.

I like it, but it took a long time to load up on my first visit.  Do you mind sharing who is doing your logo?  I'm going to be in the market in the next couple of months.

I really like it – it looks elegant and professional without being too "fuddy duddy."  best of all, it is unique and that will help people remember you and let you stand out apart from others.

One suggestion… can you set the article up so only part appears on the main page and then the reader can click to "read more."  That way, the reader can easily scan your home page for content that interests them.  Otherwise, they might be turned off if they don't like the content of your first article.
