I finally decided to change my header. It's been really boring with just the text.
When I was first picking the URL I didn't know much about spelling out words that you want to rank for in the URL so I just did an abbreviated version of my site name. And so FSYAonline was born. (Which, when you think about it, doesn't make a whole lot of sense because it implies that there is an offline FSYA.)
My site constantly gets referred to as FSYA and I understand the need for abbreviation but I wanted the letters to really mean something.
So the other day at work (isn't that where most great ideas come to you? lol) I came up with the idea to make the FSYA symbol a ticker symbol!
After working on a few versions, I settled on the one that is up on the site now.
Please tell me what you think!
Thanks!

EquiTrust Strategic Yield A
(MUTF:FSYAX)
If you had an X on the end of your name, you would match this fund! haha

I like it! Looks good, and is innovative.
I've been thinking about retooling my site a bit, and the thought of working on a revised logo has come to mind. Not sure I should change it, as that squirrel is probably associated with my blog's "brand" by now :)

You could keep the squirrel but just modernize it a little. I definitely wouldn't get rid of it :)

That's what I was thinking – refreshing the squirrel. Sprucing it up a little bit. Would have to get some help with it. Anyway, I can't imagine getting rid of the squirrel in my logo. You know…considering the name…:)

Hey FSYA,
Nice redo, maybe I don't spend enough time looking at tickers, but it reminds me more of a scoreboard at a gym. If it's the same thing, then disregard.
Squirrelers,
Don't think I would mess with it too much as it is very tied to your brand. Didn't someone say awhile back it looked like a T-Rex? Haha.

Buck – good feedback and good to know…maybe not the Trex part, but the brand identification stuff :) Thanks!

It could be thinner. As it is now it takes up a fair bit of real estate above the fold.
The vanishing points of the top part of the logo and the bottom part are not the same. If you keep that look, I'd make it flat unless you can get the perspective consistent across the logo. Even if you do get it right, it's of questionable value because you'll be left with dead space on the converging side.
I almost missed your subtitle: "Learn to save, invest and build wealth." I'd make the contrast higher since it's the most specific part of what your site is about. (The white banner to the right darkens it further.)

Thanks for the feedback! The theme settings don't allow for a thinner banner so I'm just working with it right now.
I will fix the subtitle. It does get lost a little.
@Buck Thanks! Yeah, the look of a ticker board is similar to a basketball game score board lol. Hopefully I can build the brand around the ticker enough so that there won't be a doubt what it is. :) I will prob streamline the navigation bar to match.

Squirreler, definitely keep the squirrel in some aspect. That is part of your brand… and it always makes me smile!

Thanks! It's going great! I really like it and the people that I work with. Plus there are plenty of opportunities for growth. I'm also settling into the work load while keeping up with the blog. It's harder than I thought but I just had to reorganize my schedule a little. :)

Tell me about it! I go crazy when I have to type my email address. Perhaps I should see if spf@gmail.com is taken.

I like the banner overall. The only thing that I noticed is that the FSYA on the right side looks more like a collection of dots (rather than your name), while the left one looks very clear.

Thanks! I tried to make it look like it was scrolling across but still keep the readability.
