I was just reading a piece by Buy it Like Buffett and I just had a brainwave. He mentioned that he found it hard when starting out to get guest posts; that is was like getting the first job, you can't get a job without experience and you can't get experience without a job!
I've been there – I had my site back in 2008 and didn't get anywhere and ended up stopping writing.
So – I pledge that from now on if ANYONE wants me to publish their guest post (subject to it being about personal finance) I will do so. Now my blog hasn't got great readership yet, but its getting there. But if you want something published with a hundred or so readers, I will do so. If you are just starting out, this might give you the leg up in readership you are looking for and hopefully the encouraging rise in views to keep going.
My Challenge
I also challenge other members to do the same – especially those who have readership in the thousands or more. New bloggers need the exposure and the practice and to me this seems a great way of giving back to the Yakezie community. Even if you promised to have one newbie guest post a week, it would make a HUGE difference to their readership and hopefully give a huge boost to their confidence.

I've posted this in other threads too, but everybody is more than welcome to guest post at BFS! I post one fellow-blogger guest post a week. Currently I have 2-3 openings left in December.
UHNW, please let me know if you don't get any guest posts by the end of the first week of December. I'm crazy busy until then, but I totally would love to help the ball rolling if someone else doesn't take the lead. :-)

UHNW,
You make a great point – new bloggers do need exposure.
I am always open to receiving guest posts as long as they are personal finance related. Like Crystal, I can schedule one per week. I just installed the editorial calendar plugin and am loving it! Makes it very easy to see what I have scheduled and where there are gaps.
I need to do a better job of offering guest posts too – that is one of my New Year's Resolutions!

I can vouch for BFS – she encouraged me to guest post on her site and she is very willing to help out fellow bloggers. She's a true Yakezier!
Invest It Wisely is also open to guest posts: Just send me an email at investitwisely@gmail.com if you'd like to guest post. :)

A quick thought: just watch out for all the spammy "Fake guest posters" out there. Accepting guest posts from other bloggers is great. Accepting guest posts from advertisers is a scam. If they want a text link they should pay for it.

If an advertiser is "kind" enough to offer me a "free guest post", I explain my definition of a sponsored post and request a sponsorship fee between $60-$200 depending on how many links and how long those links will stay active, lol.

Agreed. Sometimes the line is blurry, so I see if the site is more a blog or more a company. I won't charge the blogger, but I will charge the company. I've realized that this is kind of arbitrary, because whether we represent a company or not, we are all businesses in the end and trying to establish our brand. It's almost a double standard :P
I think it comes down to good quality content that is valuable in and of itself, and some recycled stuff that just happens to have a couple of links back to their site.

Along that vein Pat, does DNW accept guest posts from bloggers who are not "fake"?

If any of the articles on our newly founded blog are interesting to those who accept guest posts, let me know. We are happy to guest post (such as we will be doing on CarNegotiationCoach.com next week w/ our New Car Import DIY step by step guide on importing cars into Canada to save 20%-30%).

I hope that my discussion with MBHunter on a different thread did not scare anyone away from my search for guest posts. I am always interested in guest posts!
