There is something very wrong with this… last night I had a bad nightmare. Want to guess what it was about? I dreamed that my Alexa ranking went UP! And I was really upset when I woke up, too. I have to be the only person dorky enough to have a Yakezie-related nightmare. I thought some of you might get a good laugh out of that!
By the way, I checked the stats first thing this morning (just in case) and all is well… things are still dropping and I am now around 175,000. Whew!
By the way, I posted a nice article this morning detailing how I reduced my electric bill by 30%, if anyone is interested.

My Alexa has been increasing lately, but that is probably because of a 10 day vacation and all but ignoring my blog for a month during the winter for family reasons. At first, my ranking seemed unaffected. However, it is catching up with me now!
You may find that your Alexa does increase at some point after making a lot of gains. Don't sweat it, everything works out!
Happy Dreams!

That is pretty funny! I'm actually surprised that I've never had a similar dream since I get pretty obsessed about it sometimes.

After dropping to 83k just 2 weeks ago we are about to edge back over 90k. Seems we offended some Yakezie members or sumthin'.

I stopped checking my Alexa a long time ago. If only I can stop checking my sitemeter/google analytics as well, I will be golden… I am still obsessed with traffic though. I might get nightmares about seeing 0 visits

My Alexa has actually been increasing slightly recently as well (by about 1k or so). However, it doesn't worry me too much. I just try to focus on my postings, commenting on other sites, working hard for Yakezie, etc. It will all work out in the end!
I was actually informed recently that Alexa rankings are only based on visits to your site from people that have the alexa toolbar installed (aka other bloggers, site owners). That could also be affecting rankings.

content is king guys, I stopped checking Alexa a long time ago.
Focus on your content and your traffic will increase organically thanks to SE and readers who enjoy coming back.

I feel like the less I watch Alexa, the lower it goes!

I had a couple of days last week where Alexa didn't change at all – very odd.

I have been insanely busy for the past few months, and I haven't been able to update either of my sites regularly. Because of this, my Alexa ranking on my main site has suffered big time. It went from around 43k to about 58k (about a 33% decline)!!! My secondary site has been stagnant around 160k for the past month as well.

Alexa is nice tool to motivate us to write more and increase our visitor numbers, but it is not really a true reflection of the popularity of a blog. I would say use it for what Yakezie intends and then forget about it. On the other hand I get stressed out when I miss my posting schedules, we are all dorks in one way or another :)

I guess I'm plenty dorky too, but I dream that I'm posting. I'm typing away like crazy with some cool new idea. Ha! Very impressed with your Alexa rating!
