…because now I'm under a DDOS attack, and I can't change the posting date on anything to even get it up there.

Seriously.

I was somewhat nervous about linking to the Top PF blogs on MoneyCrashers, but they did ask, and it was a reasonable return for their effort of keeping everything updated, because I thought someone might pull something like this.  First I got crazy comment bombed earlier this week, as in hundreds of comments in a couple of hours, and when that didn't work, I got this.

Someone needs a better hobby.  :(  What did I ever do to anyone?

Well, it's slightly less sluggish and I was able to alter a timestamp.  Still having serious problems.  :(

Sorry to hear that, Jenny.  Have you contacted your hosting company?  They might be able to help you out.

Been talking to them today.  Now my site is down completely.

I may be going on the  offensive soon.  I know an excellent intrusion engineer (gets paid to do very nasty things to very bad people's computers).

How do you know it's DDos?  Could it be malware?

As MoneyBeagle said make sure you get in touch with your hosting and find out what needs to be done.

Looking more likely at this point.  Looked originally like a DOS attack, but I couldn't find evidence of unusual activity in the logs, and my other sites on the server are unaffected.  Given that my password is about 30 characters long (I seriously don't mess around with passwords) and my settings are tight, one of my plugins might have an exploit.  JOY.

Right now, tech support doesn't seem too with it.  Their last suggestion was flat absurd.  I'm doing family stuff today, so I'll have to fix it tomorrow.

Ok, I got the support people back on track.  Might see some progress now.

And they restarted the server, which solved the internal server error but not the loading problem.  Then that spontaneously got better, but it's still less than perfect.  Hmmmmm…  I have had sites since 2002 and have NEVER been hammered like this before.

Or it could have been a server exploit. When I was on Avixe, they were notoriously bad at patching their servers. My neither had a domain he hadn't even used yet get hacked.

I'm looking for editors, beta-readers, and some demographic research for my upcoming novel, Once Upon a Saturn Moon. If you like reading soft sci-fi thrillers, maybe with a touch of romance thrown in, you can find more information at http://seampublishing.com/once…..aturn-moon

If it were a DDoS attack, it would have taken down everything on the server. Most sites the size of ours don't warrant them. Sites like the FBI and JP Morgan Chase get them, not little finance blogs.

Are you on Wordpress? If so, try the Wordfence plugin and Wordpress Firewall to find issues and keep out the bad guys.

I'm going to see if I can redesign my site this weekend instead of working outside.  I haven't lost ANY of the baby fat, so I have to work out tonight, which means that my messed-up feet will be worthless tomorrow, so it's  a good opportunity.

Looks like a sever exploit, btw.  Fixed now, and it can't happen again according to host.

I've had all kinds of crazy stuff hitting this site that I NEVER faced with others.  I used to get 30,000 visitors a month to another blog and never dealt with this stuff.  And from what I've been hearing about with other people, it's not just me getting messed with.
