I checked Adsense today and realized – I am on the verge of getting my first check!
I added Adsense in February. It's been 6 months already? Wow, time really flies.
Yeah yeah, I know people are making $600/month from Adsense, but I'm happy to be seeing my first $100 anyway.

haha! I definitely am not making any where close to $600 per month on Adsense! I'd be happy with a check! Nice work.

Wow! But I'm surprised. I thought you'd might get more, since your alexa is so high! Anyways, congrats.

Woohoo! I am about to get my second payout. Word of caution–apparently the first payout check is when Google takes the time to look at your site and a few Yakezie people have had their adsense accounds disabled and lost their first $100 at this point.
Boy I hope this doesn't happen to you, but just in case I wanted to give you the heads up!

Since I recently had my account banned, I'm crossing my fingers for you!

I'm sitting on about $70 and I've had adsense somewhere on my blog for almost a year now. I guess the one sidebar widget that's hardly noticeable isn't good for monetizing. But it is good for not driving readers away. :)

Congrats! I have a little less than 10% of that. Soon my blog will have broken even on the cost of my $10 domain (assuming the money gets paid out).

I'm averaging about $35 a month lately I think, which is quite modest but every little bit helps, right? I installed it after being live for a while, so check #2 should be coming sometime soon…

We're hoping we're still in a good light w/ Google … we surpassed our second $100 about $40 ago but have not seen the 2nd cheque.

I would recommend the Who Sees Ads plugin. That way you can not bother your regular readers and benefit from the clicky, bounce'ready SE visitors.
Congrats RB40! I am still about 70 away lol

Congrats! I just got there too RB40, I'm hoping to see my check by the end of this month. Things are really picking up though. I bet I'll see another check come in only a couple months after that one! :)

Congrats!
I'm still holding off on putting up Adsense ads. They seem so intrusive…..does anyone really make good (like hundreds or thousands of dollars a month) money with them?

Thanks everyone! Hopefully I won't have any issue after the first check.
I'll install Who Sees Ads as soon as I have a chance. I don't like the intrusive ads either, maybe I'll get rid of the top banner for a while and see what happens with only the bottom banner.
The top spot has the most clicks though so….

Bottom banner isn't as good. Google's on optimization blog says that a top left ad block is the top performer.
I think that Suba makes over $100 every month from Adsense and I've been making between $65-$80 a month. I made payout after I finally started listening to Google's advice earlier this year. This is literally after having an Adsense account since 2002.

My guess is that below the content but above the comments is probably worth a CTR of 1%. Placing them in the top left corner is probably 3-4%.
Your earnings per click should be very good since you have a lot of posts on real estate. Nice work!

Congats RB40! It took me way over a year to get my first check, but after I got it I received one everyone since!
