I've made over $100 a month from Adsense for the last couple of years although that is from more than one site. If you really want to make money from Adsense you have to make your ads conspicuous.

How exciting! I put some adsense ads up a couple of months ago and am at $25 or so. I'm not counting on getting that though – not until the transfer goes through/I get the check in the mail, since I have heard of so many people getting banned at $100.
It still seems like there's an upper limit to how much you make with adsense, but then you can "graduate" to better advertising, like selling ads directly, or selling affiliate products.

AccountantBYDay, AFAIK, there is no upper limit on how much you can earn. Some people earn >$20000 a month from adsense. But it is good to diversify for your own good. Imagine earning $25000 a month and one fine day google bans you! I was banned in May (I fought tooth & nail to let me in again and eventually succeeded). Ever since I have purposely downplayed google adsense and adding other CPM/CPA ads. I know I am losing money in the short term, but I would rather have $100 for the rest of my (blog) life than $500 today and nothing from next month.
Adsense is good, but please diversify as much as you can. This goes for any type of monetization. No one model is fool proof
If you are selling links/banner ads that are essentially links – What if you lose your PR?
If you are making money using just affiliates – What if something happens like Amazon kicking out all the CA affiliate (Good job Gov. Brown! I am still livid!)
If you are making money using CPM ads & SE traffic – What happens if you lose traffic when google makes a change like the Panda update?

Suba has a great point. You should never depend on one source for all of your earnings. That gives that one source tremendous power over you and you could lose all of your income if anything changes.

Congrats!
I'm still holding off on putting up Adsense ads. They seem so intrusive…..does anyone really make good (like hundreds or thousands of dollars a month) money with them?
I felt the same as you FMV. I recently installed it on my site. I get anywhere from $10 to $50 a day from it. It really depends. It has been consistent income though.

Suba, you make a really good case for diversification! I need to put more effort into other forms of monetization (other than just links)!

I agree with KNS. Diversification is key and I am glad you reminded us Suba. The this is, it seems that link ads and ad sense generate the most income. Makes it hard to be balanced sometimes.
