Hi.  I have another blog, http://www.diningoutchallenge.com.  I have not done much with it lately, but I am getting ready to launch a dining out ebook, so I need to clean up the site and start posting regularly in anticipation of traffic from the ebook.  If you have time, could you critique the site and give me input on how to make it more appealing?

Again, I have not posted in quite awhile; I'll try to begin posting regularly again this week.  Thanks.

Blank block on top

A bit too cluttered as you scroll down.

You have a good concept, I like it!

Good luck

On my screen, several of the ads are overlapping, so I'd probably start there as far as things to fix. There's also a little too much white space (and a blank box) above the fold.

I also have the overlapping problem. I think the blog looks good but like Barb said gets a bit cluttered. I like more white space and less clutter. Good for you for embarking on another adventure though. Best of luck.

It is a cool concept. I see the overlap issue from an image going outside of the main column too.

The top heading is really nice and caught my attention.

The big square ad block turned me off and as others side, there is a lot of white space.

Does the Facebook widget really need to be that high? Just a question … I am not a heavy user of facebook.

The one item I see missing with the right column(s) is section headers. I find that it helps break down the side bars into a more organized to scan what is of interest.

Thanks for all of the responses so far.  I agree with the empty white spot in the center and the cluttered look on the sidebar.  I'll be updating the look this weekend and may ask for more opinions then.

I have made some revisions including trying to declutter the side bar, getting rid of the blank space at the top and condensing the menu at the top.  Would you mind looking at it and continuing to give me your constructive criticism?  I really want this  blog to look nice and welcoming when I release my ebook.

Also, I know that the Qdoba picture still overlaps columns.  Does anyone know how I can condense that picture?  Thanks!

You could make the content column wider, or you can edit the picture to be smaller. You're using Thesis; when I go into a post to edit and click a photo, a little box comes up in the top left corner. Click that and you have the option of reducing size by %. Try 90, then 80, until it fits how you want it to fit.

I'd suggest putting the e-mail subscribe right under your other social media buttons, before followers.

And you could use a solid e-book! I'm looking forward to promoting it!

It is almost done.  My computer got a nasty virus and was in the shop for 10 days, which didn't help!  It will be out no later than mid June, I promise. :)
