Hi all,

Got my momentum back, thanks for all the help!  I was wondering what are your post frequency sweet spots?  I heard a few times a week so you don't burn out.  But sometimes I get in a chatty mood and want to post more.  However, I hold back because I want my first post to get its time on the front page.  Catch 22 Frown

Any thoughts?

Buck

I think my sweet spot is 3 times a week so each post gets at least 2 days. One day to post and one day to promote.Wink

I'll probably do a weekend link round up once in a while, but I'm probably not going to do it every week.

Yeah I think most people (unless they are large blogs with groups of writers) probably do a new post every 2 days.  So that works out to about 3 posts per week.  If you are in a chatty mood, just schedule those posts for another day!

Well, I usually post every day! That is going to change soon because of other obligations, but as of right now that's where I'm at.

My # of visits got a huge boost when I entered a challenge to post something every day for a month. It was hard, because I didn't want to post fluff! Plus, since I'm still not great with SEO, I need to keep posting to get people to the site.

I'm one of the weird ones that posts every day.  Sunday is super easy and I now accept one guest post a week (sometimes 2 if something pops up).  I haven't burned out yet and it's been 9 months, but I also don't write 1000 word research pieces.  I think it's all a matter of comfort.  I like short, chatty posts daily so I can get my commenters going every day.  I'm sure I surprise them with "real" info once in a while, but it's usually just my ramblings.  :-)

I post anywhere from 4-7 days a week.  I definitely have  a regular schedule of what type of post is on which day.

I'm post about 3 times per week, with maybe a 4-5 if something "breaking news" type thing happens.

I'm kinda falling into that schedule, too.  Never thought about that, one day post, one day promote.  Sounds like a good plan to me. Smile

Cool, not just me worrying about it.  To be honest, everyone here seems so passionate about their blogs, I'll be surprised if anyone burns out.  I'm just saying. Cool

Duh!  I should have thought of that.  I'm now using my drafts folder to keep ideas in storage.  Thanks!

Khaleef and Crystal,

You guys are the dynamos!  Once a day, impressive.  I'm trying to figure if I am a researcher or a rambler…  I think I'm more like you Crystal.  I like to rant and ramble, most of the times.  Laugh

Nice that you're so motivated, but if you think you need to slow now, you may have to listen…  I'm trying to find that sweet spot for myself, hence the question.  Smile

Hey Kay,

Yeah I may need a schedule, too.  Keeps me more organized and sane.  Funny, almost feeling like a magazine or newspaper editor.  Surprised

I aim for 3 to 4 posts a day. They vary however. Some are very long and some are just a few hundred words.

I write almost every day.  I post M/W/F + a roundup most Saturdays.

From what I've seen, daily posts get more traffic than every other day, but twice daily doesn't necessarily beat once daily.   It doesn't matter, because I don't think I can maintain daily posting.

It's very hard for me, because my style is that of a researcher. I have no problem writing a 2,000 word post! However, I have changed up my style to incorporate more rants or breaking news types of posts. I'm also trying to figure out what works best to start up a conversation.

We should guest post at each other's sites more, lol.  That way you can get short and sweet and I can get research posts, lol.  I'd definitely be getting the better deal!  ;-)
