Khaleef and Crystal,

You guys are the dynamos!  Once a day, impressive.  I'm trying to figure if I am a researcher or a rambler…  I think I'm more like you Crystal.  I like to rant and ramble, most of the times.  Laugh

It's very hard for me, because my style is that of a researcher. I have no problem writing a 2,000 word post! However, I have changed up my style to incorporate more rants or breaking news types of posts. I'm also trying to figure out what works best to start up a conversation.

We should guest post at each other's sites more, lol.  That way you can get short and sweet and I can get research posts, lol.  I'd definitely be getting the better deal!  ;-)

Crystal, that sounds like a great idea! There are a few writers that I think would write great guest posts on my site! You're on my list to contact over the next few weeks about this, anyway!

I just "traded" posts with Mr. Credit Card this week and had a good time.  He wrote a Christmas gift post for BFS and I wrote a Christmas indulgences post for askmrcreditcard.com.  Did you want to do something like that for January?  We could trade New Year's Resolution posts or something for that first business week in January…

Because I am a Z-list blogger Wink, I post three times a week. I started blogging with posts twice a week and when I switched to three times, I definitely noticed a big bump in traffic. But I am not a writing Terminator machine like Crystal or Every Day Tips who post every day. I cannot write THAT much and do a great job like they are doing. I guess everyone should find their sweet spot for posting. When I finally become an A-list blogger, I might consider posting everyday… Might…

Please, Z-list blogger?  I doubt that. Laugh  Yeah still finding my sweet spot.  Haha, yeah there are quite a few writing Terminators out there.  Big difference is the Terminators here have been very helpful.  We'll see how things go.  If things go well with my three times a week schedule, great.  If not, might have to shift into semi-Terminator mode. Embarassed

I think the important thing is to keep to a regular schedule, whether that's once a week on Mondays, M-W-F, T-Th, Mon-Fri, daily, whatever. That way people who like your blog know what to expect. I know a lot of times if I go back to a blog that I like and they haven't posted, after a couple times of that I just don't go back, either because I assume they've blog faded or because I just plain forget.

You are so right.  Blogs that don't update on a schedule usually fade out of my mind…

I try to post at least once a day, but often post 2-3 times a day.

I'm more newsy, so it's probably easier to generate posts so easily, but I'll post 5 new articles in a given day if the material is available.

My theory is more content equals more traffic, plus since I do current promotions, I'd rather make the info available to my readers sooner than later.

Post frequency is going to depend on what type of posts you like to write.

Newsy blogs can easily post multiple types a day. If you want to write 5,000 word posts, then 2 or 3 times a week is probably enough.

I started writing 5 days a week, but got bored/lazy and went down to 3. I'm trying to go back to 5. I think once a day provides a good routine, since it resembles a common work/school schedule. Then I have weekends off, or I can run an announcement/link-love type posts if needed.

I posted daily for my first month, then realized I couldn't handle it.  3 times a week is my limit until I get rid of this day job.  :)

Here's an interesting article that includes a graph on links and traffic by posting frequency as well as some other interesting info, at least I think.

I'm kind of finding my groove at 3 times a week.  This is turning into a second full time job! Surprised  I think someone mentioned before, it's not a job if you love what you do and could do it for free.

Great article.  Hmmm, may have to think twice about increasing blog frequency…  Thanks! Smile

It's so much to do with writing posts, commenting, networking, negotiating deals that it does feel like a full time job.

I have settled into 3 posts per week. This looks like where I'll keep it, due to limited time. For that reason, I can't do more than that, while continuing to visit other blogs and do all the other things we bloggers like to do. Daily posts would probably be better, but I suspect that you would almost have to look at this as a part-time job in that case. My best advice to have fun and keep it fun and not an obligation.
