My big hairy goal is to be a PR6 (and own a 3k+ square foot home on at least 1 acre, but that's another story). Currently, I'm at a zero although some of my pages rank around at 1.
Are there any suggestions to help me increase my PR? Is it my SEO?
Thanks!
-Andrea

How old is your site? PR updates infrequently. Many of us in the Alpha class here at Yakezie were at PR0 for a long while after launch, until the next PR update. Now you see a range of PR2 to PR5.
Give it time. That's the first bit of advice, as PR won't go up until it's updated. That part isn't directly under your control.
Otherwise, be active – post regularly, guest post on other blogs, submit to carnivals, etc.

My site is almost 1 1/2 years old. But, I've never done more than 1 post per week (and sometimes not even that). So, the Yakezie challenge will definitely help with that.
I've never done a carnival …I've heard of them, but I'm pretty vague on the details. I'll have to read up on that.
Thanks!

I agree with everything Squirrelers said. I had a PR 0 for ever, and then it suddenly jumped to a 3.
If you need help or a walk through with carnivals, just let me know. I submit quite a few other Yakezie memebers' posts to carnivals weekly. After you get familiar with submitting your posts to carnivals, the next thing that will help both your Alexa and PR is to host a carnival at your blog one week. ;)

If you could help give me the low down on carnivals I would be so grateful! …and I'd love to host one down the road, that would be very beneficial to my subscribers I'm sure!

I will say it definitely doesn't hurt to try out some SEO as well. I have the All in One SEO plugin – don't always use it, but I can see the increased search traffic when I do.
My PR updated fairly quickly after I started, though, and all I did was post 3x a week or more, guest post, and read and comment on other blogs. And join Yakezie of course!

Everyone's suggestions have been right on par. Submit to carnivals, write more often, write with SEO in mind, and guest post. All of these things will give you more opportunities to get indexed which in turn gets your page ranked. It does take time though so don't try to rush it.

Commenting and guest posting. Those are the two best ways to get traffic and seo at the same time.

Thanks! But does she actually do seo work? On her page it doesn't mention that.

Evan was particularly talking about submitting to carnivals part. That is a great way to get links/build PR.
Generally I have heard great things about Melissa from different bloggers. So send Melissa an email with what you want accomplished.
If she doesn't have time or doesn't offer that service, you can find someone else here - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Au-oxdk86mh7dE1yb1R3QkVVcXhvMTd2S3pSS1JuTlE&hl=en_US

Thanks for the recommendations Evan and Suba. :)
Tony–I don't do SEO work; Evan was referring to carnivals. (I need to work on SEO myself.) However, as Suba mentioned, the spreadsheet is a great place to find fellow Yakezie members who do SEO work.

Contact me for an SEO evaluation! I suggest possible posts and do the keyword research for you based on where you are and where you want to be.
Initial consultation is free and implementation is cheap for Yakezie challengers and members (as in less than 100 bucks).
Edit: Forgot to add credibility :)
I currently derive over 60% of monthly traffic from search engines with around 3500 monthly visits and I am less than 1 yr old.
I did an evaluation for Money Is the Root. He can give you an idea on the process.
