First I want to say thanks to everyone for understanding when I took a mini break. I finished the exam yesterday and I am trying to catch up with everything now!

But getting into business

I have some really high (attainable) goals set for 2012. I am working on quantifying them all and it goes beyond income and traffic.

I'm considering re-branding the site title to match my new URL. I think it's shorter, easier to remember and all around sleeker.

I imagine that changing the image at the top and the meta title is much easier than changing a URL but I want to double check that I am not overlooking any risks.

Thoughts?

The only risk to changing something within the site (other than the URL) is that occasional readers might get a little confused. I would write a short post explaining it as you make the changes. The only other risk that I can think of is taking a little time to re-rank for the site name in Google.

I'd utilize a feature box to display on the home page anytime someone arrives at your blog. I see you are using Wordpress so this shouldn't be difficult.  Ex: go to my blog http://www.extramoneyblog.com and you will see a feature message that sticks out and attracts attention. You can use this feature to alert your readers.

Changes to images/banners will not impact your website performance, careful though not to change any content / meta tags, etc. unless done deliberately as planned

So maybe sticking with the name is a better idea? I'm not really attached to changing the name. I really like it the way it is but I just want to make it easier for people to refer to.

Maybe I will keep it because I would have to change the meta title and if that gets me dinged I'd rather not.

Good idea.
