Hello Everyone!

First of all, I just wanted to give the heads up that I will be away until next Tuesday (ofcourse I'll check in, but not nearly as often!).

Also, I'd like to do a roundup on both my Houston Chronicle blog and my private blog (both Frugal Confessions) with examples of people who have done extreme things with their finances in order to save money for retirement, pay down debt, etc. Examples are going to a one-car or no-car household, selling a home/apartment and moving into a cheaper/smaller one, taking entertainment away, etc.

Thank you everyone! I will not be able to look at this thread much in the next week, but please go ahead and leave your links and I'll have a look soon.

Cool idea! It's not as extreme as giving up a car, but last year, I did away with fresh veggies for a while to save money and instead bought frozen/canned ones. Below is the post.

Cool opportunity. I have included a couple posts and you can choose which one fits the round up best.

Wouldn't call mine extreme, but practical.  Consider it if it goes with the 'theme' of the roundup.  And thanks much for the opportunity!

I put our $25 grocery budget in place to save a little extra towards starting business school this fall.  It's been a success!

Mine might not be too extreme either… but hopefully worthy of consideration.

This article is some of the extremes I go about to squeeze every big out of something that I paid for.  I have to admit, I'm kind of proud of some of these ideas though!

My husband and I shared a car for six years. (We just got a second car about six weeks ago.) Here are my thoughts on it.

Okay–the post is live for Wednesday of this week.

Just a note–not everyone's articles worked for this. However, if it didn't work for the body of the article, then I put a link to your article at the bottom ("Other Articles You May Enjoy").

Thanks everyone!
