Hello everyone. I had an interesting thing happen on my site that I wanted to get your collective opinion on. At this point in my blog's life I am averaging 30-40 pageviews per day. I woke up this morning and checked my site, I have 132 page views already. Digging a little further about 120 of the views come from the same IP address in Northfield, Ohio, between 1:30-2:00 AM. This has me a little concerned about the security of my site. Right now I use Wordfence with all of the default settings. I don't know a ton about website security but I am just wondering if this is something I should be worried about. Your opinions are much appreciated.

Thanks!

I would add Wordpress Firewall 2 in addition to Wordfence

Is it possible those page views are from another site as a referral?

Eric – Thanks, I will give that a try!

Glen – I suppose anything is possible but I find it very unlikely. The average page view lasted only a few seconds and it was just very atypical behaivor for my site so far.

Thank you both for responding.

It might have been a bot crawling your site. It's easy to recognize the Google bots because they come from Mountain View, but other search engines have bots as well.

I have had mixed results with them as far as site speed, but you might want to check out Cloudflare. They are supposed to block threat attempts.

I'm looking for editors, beta-readers, and some demographic research for my upcoming novel, Once Upon a Saturn Moon. If you like reading soft sci-fi thrillers, maybe with a touch of romance thrown in, you can find more information at http://seampublishing.com/once…..aturn-moon
