Post what makes you comfy.  Flexo posts his net worth.  I post my debt and online income.  Pay Flynn posts his income. There's never 100% positivity with anything, and as long as it's not mean-spirited and adds no value to a conversation on your blog, then leave the negative comments up and let everyone else answer them for you if you'd rather not deal with them.

Success breeds jealousy, and jealousy's cousin is envy.

I'm digging my way out of some serious debt at

That's a bunch of nonsense Crystal!  Don;t listen to the haters, I love seeing your stats, it keeps me going.  Outsode of the Yakezie, look at other big name bloggers like Pat Flynn who do the same.  Those articles are always big hits, and 99% of people love them.  Keep them going!

I enjoy seeing your stats every month as a reminder of what is possible – not that I want to achieve the same things, because advertising is definitely NOT my area – but I always read through the posts and think, "If I work hard, I could get there someday." You know I have big plans (and not enough credibility to back them up just yet!) and seeing your updates keeps me motivated.

I'm sure seeing competitors out there is a little disconcerting, but keep in mind that no one would compete if your idea sucked. I would interpret it as flattery; you've found something that is successful and a good match for your skills.

The moment you starting doing great things is the moment that people stop believing. Have you read Ramit's comments? They act like they hate the guy but they keep on coming back for more lol

At the expense of inflating your head even more lol you are an unbelievable inspiration to so many people keep doing what got you here.

So you're facing jealousy in self employment too. People are jealous because you achieved something, so be proud. Be matured and face it yourself. Only strong people have inner strength to face criticism, ordinary people seek help from others to gain mental strength.

There's nothing wrong in posting it on the forum but, 100s of us encouraging you won't do much if you're not strong from inside.

You haven't mentioned about the sort of trouble you're going through. This might be coming in via emails as comments on blog and forum are absolutely encouraging. Sharing your success, specially earning $11k in running ad revenue in a month is bound to get you competitors, a bunch of them , if not a couple. Take wise decisions. There is a school of thought which says 'never reveal your income'. Personal opinion, I never saw your income report until now and I am encouraged.

I will use a quote from one of my favorite movies.

"So success took a shot at you?  What are you gonna do?  Become unsuccessful.  Crystal, you can be successful and enemies or you can be unsuccessful too and you can have friends".

This is a quote from American Gangster.  Your name wasn't said, but I you get my point :-).  I say that to say this.  When you are doing things that people only think of in their dreams people want to label you.  People label and talk down about things they can't comprehend.  It makes them feel better about their life.

I personally think you're inspirational.  I would be really sad if you didn't keep up with honest and open income updates.  Why let this bad apple spoil it for everyone?

I find it inspiring and motivating, especially since I've followed them for a while.  It is awesome to see where you started and where you are at now.

Keep it up – with success comes ency and jealousy of others.  Just have to take the good with the bad sometimes.

Honestly, I'll leave a comment on one of those update posts and all I see afterwards are comments saying "way to go!"  Who's hating?  It's got to be a small percentage of comments.

Sometimes it's interesting to answer a negative comment back and ask why they think that way.  You may find they have a real answer and by responding you can actually sway their opinion (and in turn strengthen a reader's bond with your site).

OTOH, some people are just trolls.  Ignore them.  In fact, if you find any comment particularly insulting, delete it.  There's no time for those.

Do what you have been doing.  If you find most of the comments are negative, then you might consider a switch.  But as others have said, it's great to hear how you have grown over the last year or so.  More people need to take control of their careers like you.

I don't think you should stop them, and I think I would just respond to negative comments either in a nice way or not at all. (Not that you asked about that…)

At any rate that's how you know you've arrived, when you get your first haters ;)

Crystal…

You know that I'm one of your biggest fans! The motivation I get from reading your monthly update is huge. I – and I'm sure many others – have taken your example and embraced it!

That said, I wouldn't have (finally) achieved a PR of 2 and moved my Alexa under the 500,000 mark without looking at your example, along with so many others here on Yakezie, and striving for the same success.

I would echo Squirrelers comments.

Don't let the haters dictate what you do.   The bigger you are the more random jerks you're going to attract unfortunately.   You'll have to find a way to deal with them.   I know thats easier said than done but its a fact that you''ll have to cope with.  I hope to someday have as much succes as you so I can learn to deal with jerks who are jealous of me. ;)

I say, as long as you are comfortable with being transparent with all sources of income, post whatever you want! Don't let people try to paint what you do as "bragging" or anything else. You know what your intentions are, and as long as you feel you are being true to them, then keep it up!

On the other hand, if you feel as though you are giving too much information to your competitors or if your posts are actually bothering people whose opinion you care about, then consider just posting blog income.

As Glen said, I'm not sure what negative comments you are getting because it seems like nothing but positivity on your posts!

Personally, I find your tremendous progress to be inspirational, and you are one of the first people that I think of, when my dreams of working for KNS Financial full time seems far off!
