I got a email offering to send me a book to review and my first instinct is to accept it. We're a bit leery about sending out our home address though. What do you guys do in this case? Get a PO box?
Anyone got a book review offer from LaFoy Orlando Thomas?

I've gotten many books sent to me for review (still have a stack to go through) and i never had a problem giving out my address. Usually they come direct from the publisher, or if it is self-published from the author itself. I did get the same email as you and he seems legit, though I don't think I have the time to get to it.

I havea PO box, but I'm kinda paranoid. If I win a contest, they get the PO box. If a customer needs to mail a check, they get the PO box. My websites are registered with the PO box address and my LLC(not for my blog) is registered using a physical address that is not mine.

I do the same as Mike. I'm not too worried and have never had any problems.

So far I have used my home address, because most of my clients (for my offline business) already know my address – since we meet in my home. However, I am about to get a PO Box and use that for all blog-related matters. I hate having my Aweber emails go out with my home address on them.

Lots of guys out there have my address by now. For big publishers I'm really not too worried. You're not doing anything illegal or having drugs shipped to your house, right? :P
The only big problem for me is that I have ended up with a backlog of books to review and I don't want to piss off anyone by taking too long to get around to reviewing their book.

I wouldn't worry about it. I've received books from publishers before. It's always been legit.

I'd have to agree – I would give my address out if it was to a company/publisher. But, I would probably give my work address if it was someone I had any doubt of dealing with.

I used to alwasy use my home address. I'm using Aweber now and they want an address on your newsletters so it was a good time to get a PO Box.

Yep, plus the small size is only $30 for six months, or I think $50 a year. Good deal.

Currently, I live in a gated community and I don't think much about giving out my address for things like a book being shipped to my house, but if I move to a house (like I plan to do soon), I think I'll get a P.O. box.

And it's a tax write-off!
