I was cleaning my spam folder when I noticed a few pingbacks from sites who publish part of my content and then say "read the rest from the original source" pointing back to my site.
WP offers the option to delete the pingback, and as much as it annoys me that my content is partially on their sites, at least it is marked as mine. If I delete the pingback as spam, will it remove the credential or is it like disavow links from Google?

Deleting the ping does nothing other than deleting the link on your site back to their page.

I'm looking for editors, beta-readers, and some demographic research for my upcoming novel, Once Upon a Saturn Moon. If you like reading soft sci-fi thrillers, maybe with a touch of romance thrown in, you can find more information at http://seampublishing.com/once…..aturn-moon

Thank you Edward, I had no idea there was a link from me to them as well. Off to delete it then!

And if it's a spammy site, you definitely don't want t be linking back to them.

I have had this happen to me as well. At first I thought it was great having another inbound link to my site but I definitely do not want to link back to theirs.

I get these from time to time. I don't think there's any way to stop them from linking to us, but you definitely don't want to give them the link from the pingback.
