guys/gals

as you likely know, i blog about 4 different interrelated (IMO) topics on my blog: entrepreneurship, blogging/internet marketing, personal finance and career/office.

my blog is not my main source of income, in fact it is not even close to being considered a source of income in my books yet. i use it to document and share processes and successes that have worked for me in the past.

my main source of income online is my portfolio of niche websites, where i build highly optimized (keyword targeted) websites, market them initially and then let them bring in passive income as they mature.  many have asked me to detail out the steps involved in establishing one and making money from it.

i have written an extensive article of thousands of words covering this subject that is now featured in one of the more popular blogs on blogging.  you can access the article here: http://www.entrepreneurs-journey.com/5478/how-to-build-a-profitable-niche-content-website/

i plan on discussing each of the components in even great depth on the blog in the coming weeks.  however this article does a good job of explaining the entire process in a methodical / sequential manner. again, here is the link again and I hope you find the information useful!

Sweet.  I've got a few niche sites.   Getting started, I picked some really competitive niches, making it hard to rank.   It took 6 months to get one site to the first page for my targeted keywords, and I still haven't made it above the fold for that one.

Anybody getting into niche sites needs to spend at least 3 times as long picking a niche and keywords than they want to.  The extra time makes it so much easier to rank later.

I've been thinking about doing a totally transparent "as it's happening" case study/example of setting up a new niche site.

Thanks a lot. I have a quick question: I just started another blog, sports related. Currently the blog is for 3 sports teams in the NY area: the Mets, Yankees, and Knicks. Is this too many? Should I just focus on one team?
