Hi Guys,

I noticed from my monthly GA report that stumble upon is my number 2 social traffic source. So I added the SU social button but noticed a 0 count for 20 posts on my homepage.

How is SU for you guys? How does it work? I've noticed Reddit be a real good traffic source this year.

Thx

Regards,

Sam

I got a little bit of traffic from SU this week, but prior to this week not much.  I don't think I get much traffic from Reddit either.  I'll have to look into both of those though.  Right now I am targeting Pinterest as the social media platform that I'm trying to maximize my performance on- and it's going well.  But as soon as I get done "Pinterestizing" my site, SU or Reddit might be next!

After I wrote this I spent some time trying to figure out both Stumbleupon and Reddit. I've now been submitting one post a day to SU. So far I think it's been a success- over the course of the last couple weeks I've been averaging 20-25 views a day from SU. And it's been increasing- I had over 50 one day this week. I have also added an SU button to my site, but I think that most of the traffic I'm getting has been from submitting my articles to their site.

As far as I can tell, SU is it's own content platform, containing only articles that have been submitted to SU. So if no one has ever submitted your articles, they will never be "stumbled upon." You get traffic from SU once someone (it can be anyone, does not have to be the author) has submitted your articles and others like them- the more likes, the more it will be shown to other stumblers.

Reddit is a completely different animal- despite also spending some time trying to build my "karma" there, I'm considering giving up soon. I have yet to receive any traffic from Reddit, despite trying hard to play by their rules so as not to be labeled as a spammer.

Good stuff on Stumbleupon CMF. Reddit has all these regulations about what to submit that I've given up too, althought IVE been able to get some good traffic from Reddit.

SU it is!

thanks for the info. 20-5 per day views is nothing to sneeze at.

Actually, I used to be part of a group which stumbled each others articles. But…. like many activities, it fizzled out.
