I am only a week or so away from launching my eBook on dining out and saving money. I have never done this before.
Those of you who have launched eBooks before, what advice would you give for a successful launch? Thanks!

Here is a great place to promote. I'd also shoot out free copies to blogging friends and ask them to review and promote. I distributed my free eBook, 20 Minute Guide to Investing, via Aweber as a way to bulk up a mailing list for future use. It's all about promortion so I would do a huge twitter and facebook campaign, tweeting a lot, asking for retweets as well as promotions on DIGG and other social media sites. Of course write an article or two about it on your blog! Best of luck. Be happy to help with promo in August after I get settled in my new locale :)
Kevin at Invest it Wisely wrote a great review on my eBook. I'd also get the product review committee on Yakezie to review it here.
Best of luck, Barb

Thanks for the suggestions, Barb. How does it work with the product review committee?

I would say promotion, promotion, promotion. You have to build up demand for your ebook by showing people exactly what they will gain from it. Consistent promotion is the only way to push sales. Use all of the media tools available at your disposal.

You have an advantage being a part of the Yakezie – so let us know when it's available and I'm sure you'll get some promotion here.
You might attach a 'carrot' to the launch – maybe a gift card giveaway or something.
Another idea is to submit the idea to Pat Flynn's site – smartpassiveincome.com. He's challenging his readers to create and launch an ebook before July 31 and he'll compile a list of all the submissions (probably 100 or so if it was anything like last time) With over 20k readers…you'll get some nice free publicity!
You might also try a pop-up…though I'm not a huge fan of most of them.

I like the idea of a carrot. I hadn't thought of that. I read Pat Flynn sometimes, but I missed that promotion. I am hoping to have the eBook set for release in the next week or two, so I will have to look into that.

Pat also has a free ebook about eBooks that includes both paid and unpaid marketing info.
Good luck!

Julie–Yes, I got that eBook. It has helped me enormously through this process. (I never realized an eBook was so much work! Not the writing necessarily, but everything else.)

Looks like we are in the same boat. I plan on launching my ebook next Tuesday (the 21st).
If anyone would like to review it I would gladly send you a copy. Shoot me a note to md @ studenomics.com
As for promotion. I just wrote 4 guest posts and plan on getting many more out there.
If it fails then it's back to the drawing board to try something else next time around.
