Hi everyone,
I'm going through a rough time with my web hosting service. Frugaling has been down all the time and it's significantly hurting my revenue. I've decided to switch to another web host, but I'm not entirely sure how to move my Wordpress blog. Does anyone have some experience with this? What steps should I take? Any recommendations and/or articles that helped you?

If you are switching from a cPanel host to another cPanel host, the process is actually quite simple and I believe is covered in the WordPress codex.

I do this routinely…and I use Andrea Whitmer… andrea@nutsandboltsmedia.com
She is well known around here, and is worth the money to get it done right. I honestly just give her my all my info and she does the whole transfer from front to back, and just contacts me with the password when its done.

Thanks for your awesome recommendation! I contacted Andrea and she recommended BigScoots. I went to the website and was honestly unimpressed. It looked soooo boring and simple — not like the bigger web hosts. Well, I called up customer service, and they literally took care of everything. They completed migrated my Wordpress site in a matter of 30 minutes with a seamless transition. My site is blazing along right now!
Incredible customer service and the prices aren't too bad! About $6-7 per month on my shared hosting tier.
Now to build back up my bruised SEO ranking…

Now that I'm not trying to respond to this on my phone…
Unfortunately, Andrea is pivoting her business and only working with web designers at this time. She told me the reason why, but I'm not sure if it supposed to be openly known.
Sam, if you really want to give somebody some money to transfer your blog to a new host, I can do that for you if you are going from a cPanel host to another cPanel host. I've switched hosts 5 times now.

Most companies will switch you for free or for a small fee, otherwise you can have it done for $5 on Fiverr. Just be sure to make a backup before.

Thanks, Edward. I'm not self-hosted yet, and am a bit nervous about making the switch so I'm trying to learn all I can right now.
