Who among you syndicate your content? What service do you use? What are the pros and cons? Would you recommend it?

I use Newstex to syndicate my content. The pros are the additional exposure and the monthly check. The cons are that some of your content is published on another site. I do not let any site republish my complete posts or feed. That is like having duplicate content across the web.

Nice. I'll take a look. I also found BlogCatalog.com and DemandStudios.com. It looks like there are quite a few ways to get exposure.

DemandStudios is a joke now.  When it used to be Blog Burst, they would syndicate to the Chicago Sun Times, WSJ, and other reputable media outlets.  Now, all I see my posts going to is eHow, and the money isn't great.  But, that may just be my blog, others may have more success with that particular service.

I've never heard of syndicating content beyond use of an RSS feed. I'm looking into this now.

I was just contacted my Newstex and have another blogging buddy who has been using them for quite some time who gets considerable traffic.  His remarks is that he money is a non-issue (less than $10) and doesn't see much traffic from it at all.

That being said, it could always get you in front a set of new eyes and that is never a bad thing.  Wink

I was getting ready to do it and then I read something in the contract about a 2 year contract (maybe I misunderstood) and decided against it.

I've never seen this outside of RSS either – Is it worth jacking with?  I've been trying to remove plug-ins I dont use to speed load time.

I left the guy there a message today, will try to talk to him next week. The idea of a 2 year contract is something I personally would shy away from…but it doesn't hurt to get more information. We'll see.

Jon, is the wp-syndicator plugin still worth it?
