What's your ideal home size? We live in a 1,000 sq ft condo. My ideal home would be 1,500 sq feet, but we're not moving.

Take my ideal home size poll.

How big was your home when you were growing up? Does it influence your ideal? Our homes were usually pretty small, so living in small spaces is OK with me.

Voted.

Our condo is about the same size as yours. I want a bigger one, but no more than 1500 sq ft.

Although a lot depends on layout, my ideal is a 3 bedroom3 bath, 1800 sq. ft.

I grew up in a 1000 sq ft, 3br 1 bath converted army barracks. The neighborhood was full of them from when the local army base started drawing down after WWII and wanted to sell off surplus assets.

I'm looking for editors, beta-readers, and some demographic research for my upcoming novel, Once Upon a Saturn Moon. If you like reading soft sci-fi thrillers, maybe with a touch of romance thrown in, you can find more information at http://seampublishing.com/once…..aturn-moon

I would like a big historic 3 or 4 story as my next house. So around 3000 sq. feet? I'm not sure. Yes it's excessive, but I just love the houses in the area and most come like this.

Thanks for taking my poll!

It looks like the sweet spot is around 2,000 sq ft. I think that's about the right size for most families too. Not too big and not too small.

I like big historic houses too, but they are expensive and usually needs a lot of work/maintenance. I'm sure it will cost a fortune to heat too.

I voted for 2000, but I think the size of our present condo, 1800 is just about perfect! But, I could live in a smaller home too.

I really like the poll. I voted for 2000 as ideal but certainly not necessary. It happens to be about the size of the home I grew up in. Interestingly, my girlfriend and I just put in an offer on a 3100 sq ft house. We'll see if we get it :/

I think our ideal size if we have one or two more children would be about 2500 square feet or so. We're in 2250 square feet right now with one child,  and it's about right or a bit too big.
