Hi everyone,
On Jan. 9th, I am going to kick off the 10 pound challenge on my blog–lose 10 pounds in 12 weeks (less than a pound per week!) People will have one week to sign up, and the challenge will officially begin Jan. 16 and end April 9. At the end of the challenge, participants who met their goal will be thrown into a contest to win $50 (depending on how my advertising continues, I may double the prize)! I am reaching out to the Yakezie for two reasons:
1. I would LOVE if other bloggers on here would participate and I can include a link to your blog on the kickoff post.
2. Would anyone be interested in contributing to the jackpot or sponsoring a separate prize? I will take any amount, even $5 or $10 donations to up the jackpot, or if you'd like to sponsor your own separate prize so more people win. I will include a link to your blog in every post related to the challenge.
If anyone is interested in participating or sponsoring (it can be one or the other, or both!) please email me and I will let you know all the details (ie. how I will keep track if people really lost the weight, etc) My email is newlywedsonabudget at gmail. THANK YOU!

you should join! worst case scenario, you don't lose the 10 pounds, but at least you lose something! and you may win $50

Good luck. My weight has been pretty stable for 6-7 years so I'll pass on this challenge.
Sounds like a lot of fun though.

Interesting idea, but I'm trying to gain weight, rather than lose…..I'll see if I can think of a reasonable way to measure that.

I am in. Someone said 'depends on how much a gain over the holydays'. On average people gain between 6-8 pounds – since averages are deceptive some gain much more than that.
I'll contact you privately about contribution to the prize – have to talk to John about it as well.
