Think your site might not have been affected by these updates and changes? Think again.  This is how it's affected my site. Do I just give up now? Not a chance.

I'm a little confused; what exactly is that graph showing. It appears to be tracking your rankings, in which the lower numbers of the past 6 months would be a good thing.

In the past 6 months, I've experienced a tremendous growth, but I attribute that to things I've done instead, like switching to a .com and writing meatier posts.

I'm looking for editors, beta-readers, and some demographic research for my upcoming novel, Once Upon a Saturn Moon. If you like reading soft sci-fi thrillers, maybe with a touch of romance thrown in, you can find more information at http://seampublishing.com/once…..aturn-moon

It's tracking the number of organic keywords that my site ranks for as well as their rank positions.  Looking from left to right you'll see a HUGE drop off in the number of keywords that I rank for.

Lovely monopoly G has going.

The SEO industry is going slightly nuts with this latest update.  Cutts warned this was coming a month ago.

I still haven't fixed 300+ articles that got smacked from Penguin 1.0.  Hard to justify the effort knowing G will change things again and all the effort may be for naught.

What tool is this?

My SE traffic has been pretty flat for about a year now.

Sorry to hear that Google hit you so hard. It's discouraging…

I'm also interesting in finding out what tool was used to get that summary of keyword rankings.

Beyond that, I think it's great that you're taking such a positive approach.  The sky isn't falling and there is no need to give up, especially with an established site like yours.  You'll figure out a way to trend upward again.

Sorry to hear about that. My SE traffic is up since the update but I don't know where to check how many keywords I rank(ed) for, maybe it is less but with a better ranking.

Also interested to know what tool that is. I've lost a lot of SE traffic three times, so interested to see how it has impacted the site.

Hey guys.  This is from SEMrush.com.  They have a bunch of very useful tools. I won't lie, it can be demoralizing.

Lost my page rank, traffic went up.  Got my page rank back, and traffic especially search has taken a hit.

Immensely frustrating but I shrug it off.

Thanks Sandy. I checked several sites and there are some sites that are doing very well.

Financial Samurai and One Cent at a time for example.

Maybe I need to do more of what they are doing – write more bigger reference posts…

I checked my sites and the Donegal growth was gratifying to see. Of course, I had nowhere to go but up! :)

What is frustrating for me is that my food blog had been growing in rankings, but slipping in pageviews. Hopefully, fixing all if the errors, feeling with pagespeed issues, and next months move to Andrea's hosting will improve things

How trustworthy is that organic keywords rating?  It puts me at 338, but I've gotten more than 338 keywords in a day before, haha.  Could be the new(ish) https Google search… maybe only Webmaster Tools can see it?
