For those of you that don't know, I've been working on a book (Soldier of Finance) for a few years, but feels like FOREVER!!!

Well, I finally just got the first draft done last week <happy dance> and I'm now realizing that it's really, really going to happen.  Pinch me please.

Part of my intended marking strategy is that I'm planning on sending every PF blogger that I know a copy (Yakezie's and the others that I've onnected with).  I'm not looking for a review unless the blogger wants to (of course!).  It's just something that I'm going to be proud of and will love to get into as many hands as possible.

I'm sure most of you, like me, receive PR pitches all the time trying to get us to review a book. "Review our book and we'll give you a free copy!"  Blah!  I don't want to be "that guy".

So if I offered to send you a copy, with no strings attached, would that be considered "sleazy".  Ooooh….such a dirty word.  Surprised

Book marketing is something I've been researching for ages now, and this was just a thought that occurred to me.

I have other ideas I'm planning on, too.  Oh yes, the wheels are ever spinning…..Laugh

I'd love to read it, Jeff, and review it.  Any chance of a signed copy, you know, so I can sell it when you're Dave Ramsey famous? ;)

I would love a copy as well. How does giving away something for free become sleazy? :)

I'm you'll have a lot of takers here who would love to offer feedback, myself included.

Not finished yet.  Still have a lot of hard work to do.  Still have to finish editing, find a printer, design cover and I'm sure 107 other things I don't know about.  Laugh

The idea began in 2009 and I'm finally starting to see progress.  Amazing.   Hardest part about writing a book is that after you write a chapter, you can't hit "publish" like a blog post.  A lot of delayed gratification.  :)

Perception is everything these days.  Some people online are genuine while others are scammy.   I just don't want to be scammy.    Free is one thing.  Free with "strings attached" ain't cool.  And I like to be Cool

I would love to read your book. I probably will do a giveaway after I'm done with it so the readers can get the words out too.

This is a great idea. Make sure you email the pdf for those who give it away for future reference. You could print up some bookmarks with the website on it too.

Haha.  Great responses to close out my day.   Thanks, peeps.  Cool

I've been talking to a few others authors this week and the process is intimidating and exciting.  I can't wait to share all the details in a blog post after it's completed :)

And for those that are interested in giveaways on your blogs, consider it done as I'll give them away to you for you to giveaway on your blog.   The gift that keeps on giving.  :)

Plus, I'm planning on some other promotions, too.  Wink
