Wow, I just went to submit to Tip'd and they have a tombstone on their site that states that they died:

7/21/2012….

Wow (or did I say that already…)

Tipd use to be one of the best personal finance social engines out there.  The voting system was tough (one article got promoted ever two hours to a dofollow link, but it was great.

The articles were usually pretty good though.  Too bad Frown

I noticed that a few days after it died.  Even sent an email to the owner through whois asking if it was for sale at all, but never heard back.

It was a pretty good site!  I would like to see it come back… Especially if it was owned by one of us Yakezie…

Indeed, it was exciting have your articles promoted…  In many ways it was like a slow race :)

I'm not surprised.  Management was rather interesting.  Several of my readers submitted my articles to Tipd a year ago and told me.  I went on the site to check it out and saw a lot of spam posts selling weird stuff.  I was stupid enough to help out by emailing them and letting them know about it.

The lady who did the editorial content took offense about the tip and blacklisted any submission about my site.  She sent me multiple emails saying that they only accept legitimate articles and bad mouthed our site.  She then went on various forums to rage about how I accuse them of posting spam.  Note that I only sent one email to the owner as a courtesy.  I had to deal with rage comments on my site from her as well for several months.  She also blocked the IP addresses for my readers and kept them from ever posting on Tipd.

I was on Tip'd from the beginning.  Shame they shut down.

If you're looking for another PF social site then check out FWISP if you haven't already.  It's run by Tom from Canadian Finance Blog.

Very true!  I usually submit my articles to Tom's FWISP site weekly.

In my opinion it's the best pf social site that's similar in nature to what tip'd was…
