I'm trying to transfer some blogs from one host to another.  I'd rather pay someone else to do it.  Any idea what an average rate is?  Does anyone have any suggestions who I should contact?

I don't charge for uploading time when I do it as can do other work. It's a pretty simple process usually so I would say no more than $40-$75 per site.

I'm a bit busy now but if you still have not got it done by next week send me a message and I would be glad to take a look at the sites and give you a quote.

Vist me at Frugal Zeitgeist…. Frugal and Sustainable Living for the now…

Hahaha, I'm the reason Forest is busy right now.  :-)  So, I suggest Forest.  :-)

Hahaha. I wish that I would have paid someone. I transferred from blogger to GatorHost on Sunday-Yesterday, thanks to Khaleef's recommendation. But, I now have to pretty much configure all of my links on my site starting with my Archives page. Blogger lables their urls different from the permalinks in Wordpress. Even if you try to customize the permalinks the configuration can get busy. I haven't even started on the cutomization of widgets and plugins. Geez. Good luck, Craig. Confused

Hostgator did a free transfer for me. They offer it with every new account.

Crystal,

Don't feel bad! I only found that out by searching the site.

Blogcrafted can do it.  Shoot them a email.

Where are you moving to? (I'm considering a switch/upgrade)

I have no idea how much it costs cause I did it myself. It's really not too bad, you just export and import the DBs and files. Forest seems like a cool and helpful guy, so although I haven't worked with him on this level I'll vouch for him too. :)

I'm thinking about moving my main blog to Media Temple and smaller ones with my new account at host gator.

Well, it took 2 days since my main blog was HUGE and took forever to download, but everything was up and running this morning!  I haven't discovered any glitches yet and all my scheduled posts are still there, so I'm walking on air.  Forest has super reasonable prices (he ended up charging me less than half the price that Blogcrafted quoted me), so I would gladly refer him to anybody looking to switch hosts in the future!

So, for me at least, Forest for blog moves when he is available and Blogcrafted for broken blog problems (they saved me from myself a couple of months ago, lol).  :-)

Thanks for the endorsement :) , I didn't know that hostgator did free transfers with new accounts and people should definitely take advantage of that.
