Hi everyone!
First time post. I am very self critical so when I tried blogging I'd ask myself how my post is better than what's out there already? I'd always be able to find someone who wrote it better than I did and then I'd delete my (almost) post. I managed to publish 2 posts but it took 2 months so I ended up hiding my blog section, I know I should've kept at but I kept deleting my own posts.
I am much better at writing software, but this super power is useless when it comes to blogging. How did you overcome this problem?

I became less critical and read tons of blogs. That helped me understand where my viewpoint fit and how to write well.
Initially, very few people are going to read your blog, so it's less important to be perfect than it is to just crank out some contact. Consider the fact that you're getting valuable experience performing in front of only a few people!

I had the exact same self conscious issues when I first started. Then I realized that the only way I am going to get better is to keep writing. Since that point I have kept a strict 3 day a week posting schedule. I write the best article I can, and even if I'm not wild about it, I post it.
As time has passed I have received a lot of positive feedback. A few encouraging emails from readers will really get you going.

Blogging is not a writing contest! You are providing a personal or particular point of view (POV) on a subject you are interested in. It helps if you can tell a story and make it interesting, but your POV is what is important. You can edit your writing to death, but you should get it out there and you'll find the feedback helpful. Good luck.

You'll have to quit worrying about perfection. A better goal is to keep improving.
The more you write and publish, the better writer you will become. If you keep deleting your drafts, you're only getting in your own way.
Blogging isn't software. There are no fatal bugs that will stop it from working. It doesn't have to be perfect.
Good luck!

Then I realized that the only way I am going to get better is to keep writing.
This. If you aspire to get better and have others look up to you, the only way to get there is through self improvement.

I originally started blogging in part to improve my writing. So maybe instead of wondering how your possible post is better than anything else out there, you could focus on just posting something on a set schedule. Or writing x number of words, or whatever. One thing's for sure, trying to be the best ever out of everyone right out of the gate is not going to happen. For anyone. Not even "the best" started out that way. But they did start, and they kept going.

Remember it's only your opinion that someone else "wrote it better than [you] did". You've got a unique take on any topic you can name, and your style of writing will be preferred by some people, even if you like better the way some other blogger did it. That said, sure you need to use proper grammar, spelling, etc., but don't worry about being #1 (or even #2 through #10), to everybody. Not possible, for anybody! To succeed you only need a tiny fraction of blog readers out there to think your stuff is worthwhile, not every blog reader, right? Now publish, and best wishes!

Yea I think as you write more you will naturally improve and get more confident. I know I've gotten more confident in my writing, and according to woopra, people are reading some of my articles so it cant be all that bad lol

Try writing to readers with this frame of mind:
1. I like you
2. I want to help you
3. I care about you
It would be difficult to fail if this was your intention with each post.
