hey, has anyone every had their twitter account suspended? A basic, no-porn, no-harassement, totally pc twitter account? Seems like I did something naughty, but in reality I just tweeted about superfrugalette's new contest…then it went kaput! Just wondering.

Were you doing anything unnatural? Maybe you followed too many too quickly or something? Or maybe someone just reported you for some reason.

No that has never happened to me before but don't overload twitter with tweet after tweet.

I only do 2-3 tweets a day, and I only follow about 30 people. The only thing I can think of is that they don't like posting lots of links – but I like linking to people's things that I read! oh well. I'll figure it out whenever twitter decides to respond.

crazy – I've never heard of that before, but wouldn't be surprised if twitter starts closing accounts because of the number of "fake" accounts. It's unfortunate that they closed yours by mistake. I would think that it would be resolved. Just a stupid mistake on their part!

Were you posting the same content often or the same hashtag? It's possible Twitter saw this as spam.

I post links a ton in posts (about 7 times per day….not as "a ton" as some people, but still a high number given that I only probably have 10-20 tweets daily)….so I don't think that's the problem. Someone must have reported you for some reason….

The only thing they let me do is submit an appeal email, which i did as soon as it happened. i haven't heard back from them, and I followed up again yesterday. I think I'm sort of out of luck – I don't think twitter really cares to answer these emails quickly, so I might have to just create a whole new twitter handle and hope that one doesn't get suspended too.

If you are suspended they will send an email saying so (I know because it happened to me).
Not proud to admit, but I followed too many people too quickly and got suspended.
I sent an appeal, waited two weeks, heard nothing.
I sent another appeal and they turned me back on within a day or two.
