Where will/did you go on vacation this year and what tips/tricks do you know of to save money, get along with each other and have fun while on vacation?

I'm just back from a fantastic vacation to Yellowstone – we took our grown kids and grand kids to celebrate our 40th anniversary.  It's the first time we tried extended family travel and we LOVED it!

I'll be back in the swing with comments and etc after catching up with home stuff.

Went to Jamaica for a week back in April. Going to Sweden/various northern European places for two weeks next month.

Secret for getting along? Lots of beer.

Ways to save money? I don't know, I'm not very good at saving money on vacation. Probably due to all the beer.

We just got back from a whirlwind trip to Peru and Chile (Machu Picchu, Sacred Valley, Cusco, Lake Titicaca, Easter Island, Lima and Santiago) booked using miles and points.  If you haven't explored the miles and points game, I'd highly recommend you look into it to find amazing opportunities to travel very cheaply.  My husband is the brains of that operation while I blog primarily about the wonderful places we go to (more fun!).  If you have any questions regarding that, feel free to ask!

BTW, I love Yellowstone!  It's my favorite National Park and one of our first destinations when we started the miles and points game.

I went to Yellowstone when I was like 16, pretty interesting experience.  At the time they were in the middle of a bunch of forest fires.  You could see areas still smoldering.  I'd love to go back with the family.

We're heading out to Portland later in the summer.  Looking forward to getting to know that town a little better (would love to meet up with anyone out there).

@Kyle – I guess if you're drinking enough beer you don't spend as much on food?  I'd love to visit Europe and check out some breweries there.

We are in Northern CA visiting families and friends. It's too hard to meet up with the baby tagging along though.

I'm in Portland and would love to meet you if you come to town. I'll have a lot more time soon.

I was in Sanibel, FL last February. Went with a few generations of family and had a blast. Yes, we came back with lots of seashells. My daughter wouldn't leave without them.
