I'm planning a series for my blog with as many ways as I can find to legitimately make extra money, with the goal of bringing in an extra $1,000 in one month. Ideas for online or real world options that pay quickly would be welcome.
I'd love to have your best tips, and I'm happy to link to your blog with credit for your tips as well as linking to any post you might have written about a specific tip. I'd like to have the tips ready to go by October 11.
Post here or e-mail me at thesavedquarter@gmail.com.
Thanks!
Penny

I'm voting for pizza delivery, a shocker I know :-)
22 hrs per week and usually well over $1,500 per month. I think there is a sweet blog out therethat talks about it. DeliverAwayDebt.com Sorry couldn't resist it.

Jeff, don't be shocked, but your blog was on my list! Who wouldn't be impressed by your diligence and pizza wheels?

It's not as big as pizza delivery, lol, but babysitting and pet sitting made me about $100 a week a couple of years ago and I wasn't always busy. $20 a night for pet sitting (easy during the week) and $10 an hour for babysitting (evenings and weekends) really added up. I mentioned a few ideas briefly in http://www.budgetinginthefunst…..-you-earn/
My husband and I also made about $500 a month for almost 2 years when we rented out our spare bedroom: http://www.budgetinginthefunst…..a-bedroom/
Hope these help,
Crystal

I'd recommend tutoring – any level really but the higher up you go, the more lucrative. Obviously this is where higher education helps :)

Seconding Crystal – when we need that kind of cash, I usually take on an extra kid or two. $200/week for full day care, half that for before & after school care.
I have also had good luck with eBay – either decluttering & getting some quick cash out of our junk or finding a niche to buy cheap & sell at auction.

Tutoring! I get paid $40/hr to help kids with Algebra. It's the easiset money I've ever made and the deman is high! If you live near a high school or college I'd totally look in to it.

Hello Penny!
A few ideas (use whatever suits you):
- Once a week take orders from coworkers and pick up everyone's lunch for a $2-$3 delivery fee (we do this as a fundraiser at work)
- Sign up for a new bank account (I make anywhere from $50-$150 per account, although this may not be a quick enough turnaround)
- Cat sit/dog sit/house sit
- Scrap Metal (put an ad somewhere or go around on bulk pickup day with a truck)
I hope these help. Interesting topic…I think I should look more into it and maybe do a post in the future (I'll link to yours!).

Wow! That is an amazing amount of money for 22 hours of work. Hmmm…. If I wasn't such a chicken I would consider it…. maybe.

I love the new bank account idea! I just got an offer to open a personal account where I do my business checking. They will pay me $200 to do it!
