Honestly.. I don't know what to tell you.  I was posting on neither Reddit nor Consumerist..

I think Reddit pulled it from Consumerist, but I can't speak as to how Consumerist found it.

It *WAS* in a Carnival on Sunday, and it was re-tweeted by a couple of folks. <shrug>

Who knows how any of this comes up, although I'd like to know… haha.  What carnival?

That post was on totally money's carnival.  Honestly, I probably would have fainted upon seeing the number of hits that day if Aloysa @ Mybrokencoin didn't give me a head's up on twitter about the consumerist mention.  I wasn't even following them (whoops…) so had no clue I was being talked about by such an important site.  I still hit the floor, but I didn't pass out.  Thanks, Aloysa!

Congratulations!  Excellent work.

What 1 thing can you do to capture 10% of that number as regulars?  I don't have an answer, just wonder if you have thought about that.

I also got a huge bump in traffic yesterday because I was listed in a weekly roundup on The Simple Dollar.  Not quite to the extent as you, but its pretty cool to see that traffic.  I'm not sure how my article was picked up.

Awesome! You'll get sustained traffic for a few days then it will fall back to normal. That's what happened after my Consumerist/Reddit action.

Congrats!

Consumerist links can be nice. I got a link from them on a post 3 years ago, and I still get a few hundred visits from that link every month.
