What Are Your 3 Blogging Goals For 2011?

Hey! it's time for resolution :-)

During the Holidays, I always take a time off from blogging and ask myself the following question: What will be the 3 things I will do in 2011 with my blog?

While doing this exercise, I try to avoid the regular BS resolutions such as:

- writing better post

- commenting on other blog

- be more active on forums

- etc.

Those resolutions are like the one we take on New Year Day:

- eat healthier

- go to the gym

- be a nice person

We can't achieve them because they are too general and because there is no specific objectives.

So here are my 3 blogging goals in 2011:

- Write a free ebook and have 500 downloads

- Switch The Financial Blogger's direction from Personal Finance Blog to a PF/Online income blog

- Create my first product and have 100 sales

What are yours?

1)  Get a total of at least 100,000 visits to BFS (I've gotten about 28,000 since February, so 3-4 times as many in 2011 sounds good to me).

2)  Make at least $20,000 (that's 3-4 times as much as I've made so far).

3)  Start and develop Totally Money Blog Carnival to the point that other bloggers are proud to host it.  I've only bought the domain so far, so this is going to be my hardest to achieve goal.

1) Increase traffic to at least 500 unique visitors a day

2) Increase revenue to $1,000 a month

3) Should I hit 1 & 2, see how I can start diversifying (open up a sister site, maybe do a different second project, who knows).

Thank you so much!  I'll be running it on BFS for at least a month or two just to make sure I'm not handing anyone a big problem.  I'll gladly let you know as soon as I work out the kinks and have it ready to be hosted elsewhere.  :-)

Wow, these goals really show the differences between our sites, lol.  I want the same number of visitors in a year that Buy Like Buffett is aiming for every month.  :-)  I'm giggling that he's aiming for my Alexa rank and I'm drooling over his traffic…

My two cents (please remember I am a complete newbie so my numbers are not as impressive as yours):

1. Increase traffic to 300 unique visitors a day

2. Write an e-book by December 31 (I have a couple ideas and just need to settle on one)

3. Get Alexa rank under 50K

I have been blogging for almost 2.5 years now, made progress, but this is my year where I try and dedicate myself more to my craft, my stats on my site are weak.

1. First goal by early January, build a look to my site, a distinct, look, evaluating the Prose Child theme right now, looking to finish a fresh, new clean design with logo by end of January.

2. Increase traffic to 4,000 uniques per month.  Right now, a good month is 2,000.  I think with better SEO and networking, I can get this done.

3. Guest Posting galore.  I look to provide guest posts on other sites as well as attract other to share their stories on my site.  At least 1 guest post bi weekly.

My 3 blogging goals for this year

1. Work harder on diversifying my income streams a bit more, and to equal the income from my day job.

2.  Update and re-launch my ebook, add new resources – and launch a standalone blogging site to go along with it.

3. Grow my pf blogs to 200k page views/month or more.

By the end December 31 2011,

  • Have 1000 subscribers
  • 500 daily uniques
  • Make $10,000.

I'm not sure how realistic any of these goals are. I have around 30 subscribers right now, but I've never really pushed my feed….yet. 500 per day seems doable. $10,000 is a big goal for me, but I made around $1200 in 2010 with private ad sales. With more of those plus Adsense, I think it's possible. Even if I come close, I'll call it a win.

1. 200+ subscribers

2. Write and eBook

3. Make at least $2,000

Since I just started blogging in September, I am just blindly throwing numbers out here. Hopefully I can make it happen!

Quick question ; Do you have a plan for 100k per month? this seems to be a very aggressive goal, you sure it's SMART?

My goals are more of a back to basics type of thing.

  1. Create debt reduction course for new followers
  2. Give even greater insight into how I am reducing my own debt
  3. Put my experiences and lesson plan into a ebook and generate $300 per month in revenue its sales.

I'm digging my way out of some serious debt at

Yes. My plan now is to utilize SEO and organic traffic more. For the first year and a half of blogging, I just wrote content with no strategy. I put together a step by step plan for growth over the past month. I want to focus on pageviews first and then site visitors. I have been able to get December pageviews up to 50k. This month the number of site visitors is a 30k. I figure that smart marketing tactics should buoy those numbers. I also plan on adding my first ever weekly writer.
