I am a Sonographer ( Ultrasound Technologist). Love what I do and I love blogging too!
Cool!!! It was so cool to see the ultrasound for the baby. I think this would be a great job being around happy people all the time. ;)

I am a computer hardware engineer at a big tech. It was a lot of fun in the beginning, but lately I am not really interested in computers anymore.

I teach Junior High Science and am working on my CFP. I just started my blog in July and really enjoy it.
Hope I can make a living blogging when I retire, with help from my fellow Yakeziers!

I sure am glad I asked the question to start! Everyone has such an interesting story/perspective to share and it's great to get a little glimpse of that.

Thanks Miss T!
I think I like Amanda's job the best so far…'environmental investigator' sounds completely awesome.

I mystery shop (not for a living:)); just for oil changes so far though. I like that I can essentially get free oil changes for life if I continue to do so. The first one will take you awhile, but then it gets easy and you can write it up in about half an hour.

Amanda, What's the going rate for mystery shopping these days?

So far I haven't seen "pay", just reimbursement for a service done. So my oil change up to around $36 is paid for (reimbursed via paypal). I know that others are far more successful at mystery shopping than myself. So far I just use intelli-shop

Thanks Hunter! I do enjoy the work. Ofcourse, working in regulations can get tedious, but it is a rewarding job. You have to be able to assert your authority and command presence though, which fortunately I am good at. Perhaps it's because I get a badge and it makes me feel more commanding…:).

Oh I see, basically it's all about reimbursement for the stuff you buy and basically for free

How are you liking Mystery Shopping? I have always been curious about it.
What kind of products or stores do you shop at?

I've had lots of different jobs but right now I'm making my living from blogging and mystery shopping. As long as I'm making enough to pay the bills I don't plan on getting a job.
I do lots of different types of shops. The most common ones are fast-food, gas stations, banks, and movie theaters. I like mystery shopping since I can choose my jobs and work when I want. It is difficult to make significant money though. I could probably make a living from it but I'd have to travel a lot and do lots of shops I don't like. For now it is just a nice bit of supplemental income.

Hi Aaron!
You can make money from mystery shopping. Not that much–from what I've seen you might make $12 per assignment, but I think there are other people making much more than that.

Aaron, you can make decent money mystery shopping. I've made a few hundred a month the past few months doing mystery shopping part-time. One of my blogging friends makes thousands a month doing mystery shopping. It isn't easy to do but it is possible.

I work for the state government dealing mostly with surface water in the environmental quality division. It's interesting work, and I've learned quite a bit so far. Not everything that you read about in the papers is true (w fracking and other extraction methods) and some of the regulations truly are overkill.
Before this, I did database management and web development.

I work for a software company as Director, Client Experience. The job involves non-sales account management of assigned clients plus internal change management. I've done about every client side job there in 17 years from support and training to product management and implementation.

I manage the Student Financial Services office at a large (19,000+) public research university. I get to meet with parents and students every day and help them figure out how they are going to pay for college.
I love blogging, because it is an extension of a job that I love.

hey Jeff–neat! I am an air environmental investigator. However, I am deep in regulating oil and gas well sites, and so fracking is something I am interested in.
