I want a theme that looks great on every size of screen–a responsive theme.  I want certain areas to be fluid, but since ad sizes are fixed, I need certain areas to be fixed but responsive and to serve up the correct ad based on the size of the screen.

I want my site to be optimized for the highest performing ad sizes and types.

I also want built-in A/B testing.  REAL A/B testing, that can run two different things in parallel during the same time period, serving up different ones to different visitors randomly.

I want to be able to have very different post types with different handling rules.

I want to be able to choose featured posts with a checkbox, and then to have them retire automatically from the front page.

I want to have parallax scrolling to control the rate at which the sidebar(s) display in relation to the text.

I want to be able to hand-place ad units in some posts where I choose.

Anyone else?

If you want A/B testing you can try out optimizely.com, they do a good job letting you customize pieces of your website and save your changes as "B" or "C". Then you setup goals (like click ad) and you can see which is better.

Parallax is not as complicated as you'd think. Break your background into different layers. Overlap them so it looks like your normal background. Set different backgrounds to move at a different speed per scroll or mouse move. Adjust speeds until happy. There are a few tutorials on-line for individual pages but I don't know of any wordpress plug-in.

For A/B testing, I use the plugin Max A/B

I'm looking for editors, beta-readers, and some demographic research for my upcoming novel, Once Upon a Saturn Moon. If you like reading soft sci-fi thrillers, maybe with a touch of romance thrown in, you can find more information at http://seampublishing.com/once…..aturn-moon

I'd like true A/B testing from the WP dashboard!  I know–I'm spoiled.  :)  But I still want it!

I'm working to implement all this–I know parallax is easy, even with the modifications I want to make to it (basically to control sidebar pacing dynamically using js with respect to the length of the main content, with mins and maxes to it never looks odd and overflow set to hidden) and it's insanely stupid that there seem to be no media-query driven, ad-optimized, mixed fluid/fixed responsive design for all devices.  It's just irritating that I have to do it.  :)  I taught myself web design years ago, with some front-end development, but I haven't done it in eight years now, so I'm having to relearn.  And WordPress is COMPLETELY different now, too!
