This is an open question post to all Yakezie members, especially some of the bigger guys. If you could pick one single thing you've done on your blog since starting, what has had the greatest impact on the growth of your blog?
I know it's hard just to choose one, but I'd love to hear what everyone has to say. Looking forward to these responses :)

Guest posting. You deliver your style to a whole new audience. It's a grandfather blogging technique that will be hard to match.

Along with guest posting, I would say blog carnivals. Especially carnivals that have an "editors pick" or something similar. They are good for links, and if you are a "pick" you can usually count on some traffic.

Definitely joining the Yakezie network (but that's probably a given I suppose…). Besides that, I would say commenting, giveaway promotions, and as of late, my new eBook has been a big contributor. I have heard that having an eBook on your site (that you wrote) makes it more appealing and gives you credibility on the topic. Therefore, people are more likely to subscribe and stick around to listen to what you have to say.

For me starting over with a new blog name helped, and putting my name on it. Plus obviously being a part of the yakezie!

I participate in a lot of 'link ups' and that has really helped to drive new traffic to my site.

All good ideas guys! However, Single Saver, what's a link up? I pride myself on being marketing savvy but I have no idea what that is! Please shed some light on this, I'm really interested.
Blog carnivals have been huge for me, especially getting editor's picks. I want to host carnivals in the future.

I entered a challenge to write a quality post every day for 30 days. It was difficult, but it got a lot of people to recognize my writing. Also, joining the Yakezie network had a huge impact.
If we look at just traffic, focusing on SEO was the #1 change I made! It's probably the one thing keeping my site afloat during this busy time, where I haven't been able to write often.

Staff writing and guest posting worked well for me.

Link ups are where a site owner posts an article, and then provides a spot where you can leave a link to a similar article you have written (Mr. Linky is the most common provider for this form). The link ups that I participate in range from frugal tips to recipes.
I believe Yakezie's own 'Saved Quarter' does a link up for the Saved Quarter Challenge. I have also been thinking about starting a "Frugal Tips" link up on my site for Mondays, as there really don't seem to be any link ups of that genre currently offered on Mondays.

Writing. Staff writing, guest posting, posting daily, and commenting drives most of my traffic.

I think if anyone works as hard as Crystal, your site should succeed. I mean, look at all of these things that she does! I tried the posting daily thing, but then I remembered that I was married and should probably spend some time with my wife. ;) hahaha
