Obviously a number of variables can influence the popularity of articles, but I'm wondering if any of you have noticed popularity trends at certain times of the day, week, month, etc.

For days, M-T-W are probably the best bet.

For time, I would say earlier is better.  I try to have my posts scheduled at 12:15am Pacific time, so they go live at 3:15am Eastern.  I usually start getting traffic to articles as early as 3am Pacific, usually from Wall Streeters heading to work.

Thanks Robert!

I'll keep those times in mind next time I post.

My posts that get the most views are always on Monday, and then the views decrease until the end of the week.  Good idea, Robert, to post so early.  I usually go for 5 a.m. EST.  Maybe I need to make it a bit earlier.

Robert,

What sort of numbers do you see on the Friday posts?  Do you try to skew certain topics earlier in the week?  I see my best traffic MTW, and somewhat Th… declining F/S, then a slight recovery Su.

Saturday-Sunday are my slowest day, followed by Friday.  I get about 1,000 visitors on a Friday, but then it drops off on the weekends.

I also have significantly less traffic on Friday-Sunday. I think most people find more entertaining weekend pastimes than reading about finance.

Haha – another reminder that we're a strange breed.  You can also see the traffic change during the week – I get way less reads on my stock articles on Fri-Sun.

I've always found that Monday's or Tuesdays's are the best day.  Everyone seems to post on Monday, so there may be a bit of an advantage to new content on a Tuesday, but on the other hand if everyone is out reading on Monday, perhaps it's best to join them.

And I agree with the earlier the better.
