Hi, I'm fairly new to blogging and I seem to get a ton of spam comments every day.  I have it set so I have to approve all comments, so it's not a huge deal, it's just annoying.  What's the best way to deal with this?  I know a bunch of sites have the "I am not a spammer" box.  Any suggestions?

I use the akismet plugin in wordpress and that weeds out 99.9% of the spam comments I get.

Oh man, I feel dumb.  I had that on my Wordpress account, it just wasn't activated.  Thanks for the tip!

I don't like Akismet personally because it seems to have a lot of false positives. The GASP plugin (the checkbox) seems to take care of the spam on all my sites – I never ever get spam comments.
