This is a new ranking system to me: Blog Level by edelman.com
Has anyone used this before? What is your blog ranking?
http://bloglevel.edelman.com/
According to this ranking system, Accountant by Day has:
Influence of 7.5
Popularity of 12.5
Engagement of 6.2
Trust of 12.5
Not sure how they figure this out, and not sure if I need to do something to work on that engagement! What results do you guys get? Should be interesting to compare!

Interesting tool – I'd never heard of this one!
I have:
Influence of 26.2
Popularity of 26.2
Engagement of 29.9
Trust of 31.2
The tips for improving these scores crack me up. "Do you have an RSS feed?" Um, yes. "Do you use Twitter?" Duh. I'd be very interested to know how they come up with those numbers.

I would very much like to know more tips from them besides having an RSS feed, lol.

I always love how arbitrary these tools seem… Regardless, here is 20's Finances:
Influence |
27.5 |
Popularity |
32.4 |
Engagement |
32.4 |
Trust |
34.8 |
P.S. I would like to add that it is pretty telling how inaccurate this tool is when my popularity (and other categories) is higher than Andrea @ sooverdebt (a Twitter guru). :)

At least this metric has clear explanation on how it is calculated -
http://bloglevel.edelman.com/About.aspx
Corey, if Andrea is not including a link to her blog in every tweet, then her tweets are not taken into account. That is why the discrepancy in data. I think they should atleast include all the tweets/RTs/replies at tleast in their "engagement" score but that is calculated only using the RTs, comments and frequency of the posts… If Andrea is not engaging I don't know who is…
here is mine for what its worth -
Influence |
42.1 |
Popularity |
46.9 |
Engagement |
51.7 |
Trust |
51.7 |
And for BP
Influence |
32.4 |
Popularity |
34.8 |
Engagement |
39.7 |
Trust |
39.7 |

Interesting. So it seems like they look at your google page rank, number of comments, and some other factors, and then depending on which of their categories they're measuring, they weight each of those differently. So to have higher engagement you'd need more comments. I'm sure that attempting to raise your ranking in their system would be good for the blog, because it would require a well rounded approach with attention to SEO, social networking, and interacting with readers.
But I think there are a bunch of other ranking systems out there like this. Always fun to try them out!

Have you tried Klout? I noticed a bunch of Yakezie folks there. Just another way to measure yourself. I'm drowning!
