I'm excited to say that I finally got the bare bones of my new niche site up and running. It was much quicker than getting my original blog going because I already know what plugins to use and such. You can find it at http://www.misswallstreet.com
So far there are just a few posts :)
I'm going to be working on SEO pillar posts and link backs for the next few months then let it be. I'd like to grow it into a monster of a site with everything trading related but we'll see with how long my attention span is.
I wanted to ask everyone, what niche site do you have? And how long did it take you to get up and running?

Nice job! I noticed that you already found my newest site! Can't believe you were that quick! Anyway, besides TCI, I have a niche site http://www.petturtleandtortoise.com that I write one new post a month to keep it current, but otherwise do nothing. It generates a little a month.
My newest venture is http://www.mymultipleincomes.com, which I just launched on Thursday and am still putting together the basics! I'm going to post about 2x a week to this site and really try to grow it.

I bought the domain, creatingapassiveincome.com quite a few months ago with the intention of setting it up as my niche site. I plan to do this very soon, but definitely have to set it up as a future goal so that I start to see some progress! ;)

Thanks! I like the pet turtle one. That's a good one that's product focused. I'd like to do something like that also. I'm sure the ideas will start rolling in soon.

Yeah, when I first bought Miss Wallstreet I intended to do firms that "miss wallstreet earnings" but I realized that was going to be much to labor intensive. (I did start to rank in Google for wallstreet earnings alerts though) So I changed things up to something that I can build, set and forget.
Let me know when you get it rolling! I'll be sure to check it out

Nice! I think building sites gets addicting after a while. I really like the start up phase of a site.

Yeah MissWallStreet is an excellent domain. Super brandable.
To LAMF: You should consider pointing that domain toward its own site so that you can start racking up age with Google. No matter how empty (few lines of HTML and a couple static pages), it's always a good idea to let domains age on their own site. That way when you do get around to developing it, Google will have some respect for it.

I have a good list so far but I am solely concentrating on content and building the site right now rather than monetization and traffic (those will come later on)
What is Dividend
Home Security System Canada
SecondHand Saddles
Smart Financial Analyst
I have a few more under development (about 10) but they are not online yet….
I've started niche websites back in January and without promotions and aggressive monetization (I only use Adsense for the moment), I've already made more than $200 with them.
I expect to average $100/month (so around $1,500 when they are all up and running) by the beginning of 2012. Hopefully, one or 2 of them will grow faster and make more money ;-D

Congrats to all of you niche site bloggers. I barely have enough skill and time to run one site. I definitely am envious. Wish you the best with your sites and hope they turn out profitable.

I have two sites in development… one about migraines and one about 'simple user for everyday things.' Sadly, I haven't had the time to put forth as much effort as I had hoped.

Nice site! Technical analysis for stock trading. My niche sites are in making money online, credit repair, and sports.

What I would like to know from each of you is how do you find time to develop your sites?
I have The Single Saver, which is my main site. I also have two niche sites in development – one which I feel like I could get launched if I just had a couple uninterrupted days to work on it, and another which I am questioning if it will amount to anything (lots of potential… just not sure if I can make it work). On top of that, I have an idea for a new site that I am really, really feeling drawn to – great branding potential and great potential to help people. But sadly I just don't have enough hours in the day! When I feel most creative is when I am at my "real" job… by the time I get home I am exhausted.
I know many of you are in the same boat so I would love to hear how you get past this.

For my pet turtle site, I just knocked it out in a weekend when my wife was on vacation with her friends. Now, I just update a new post once a month.
I totally feel your pain about balancing multiple sites. I think the best niche's are ones that you can set and forget. I've also read about people using a VA through a site like oDesk or Elance to generate content.

I always feel like I'm running short of time too, but what I do when I really want to get something done is get up between 4 & 4:30am. I am a night person so that seems backward, but I REALLY get a lot done then, and as a bonus even though I'm tired later I've gotten what was important to me done so I feel good.

I've got several, some that are complete flops and I leave up because they earn enough to pay for the domain each year, and others that actually make me some amount of money. Not much, but growing. Best one at the moment is http://www.digitalphotographysupply.com

I launched CanadianOilStocks.ca a while back and it's already generating a little bit of income. The site provides a jumping point for DIY investors who are seeking to expose their portfolios to the Canadian oil sector.
I update it once a month with a new post. With a full time job and kids I can barely keep BTI running….Kudos to those who are running multiple sites!

I started with just getting the domain name and playing around with designs and plugins. Then I would write a few posts each weekend preparing for the debut. I've been working on it since around mid-April. Now I just write about one post a week or a few on the weekends. I'm not in a rush to monetize or gain massive traffic yet because I want mostly organic search traffic and that just takes time and SEO.
